A medical miracle gave TV personality Cat Delaney more than a new heart. It gave her a second chance at life. After leaving Hollywood to host a San Antonio TV show spotlighting children with special needs, Cat fights to gain respect as a newscaster. She meets Alex Pierce, an ex-cop turned crime writer, who regards her as a woman, not as a heart patient. When fatal “accidents” begin killing the other heart recipients, Alex may – or may not – be her most important ally.
With her new world turning sinister and a mysterious stalker shadowing her every move, Cat is caught in a dark maze of betrayal and secrets…and perhaps sees too late the mask hiding a killer’s face.

“[A] page-turner…a compelling heroine…Brown has once again hit her mark.” (People)
Many books you can figure out the killer in the very beginning but this book had many twist and turns that were very unexpected. Loved it.
I found this a disappointing novel, it was very repetitive and nothing like as good as Witness. The whole story line could have been much better in its plot.
For the most part, it was a good listen, but I found myself having trouble warming up to the main female character. I liked the male lead, which saved the book. The 'bad guy' was pretty easy to discern, and it was almost laughable at the end that Cat never suspected him. I think the narrator did a nice job.
HATE spoilers! Enjoy HOT, sexy books. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. Running out this type Audible-so on2 lighter romance/mystery :-(
Absolutely, Sandra Brown is a favorite author
Somewhere in the middle or higher
No, I cannot compare.
Sandra Brown writes great stories...this was a bit unrealistic plot, but it IS fiction! I liked it.
This book would have been better categorized under romance, rather than mystery. I am so disappointed to have spent money on a book I do not want to even finish. I am more than half way through and can't believe I have listened to this much. This is the first book I have written a negative review for. I don't read mysteries for frequent sex scenes and teenagey romance.
Avid reader and listener!! Love books! I am usually reading one genre of books and listening to another genre. Best of both!
I have always totally enjoyed all Sandra Brown's books. Most are gripping and keep you hooked until the end. Sandra Brown is one of my top 8 favorite authors. I would not recomend this read nor this narrator. The plot is weak. The narrator is flat and you find yourself tuning out and not paying attention to the book! This has never happend to me before! First for everything. I accidentally purchased another audiobook with this narrator. Big mistake! Not worth the credit!
"Completely ruined by the ending"
The narration was brilliant - the best ever. Really brought the book to life. This was a great story totally destroyed, for me, by the final chapters
I was irritated at the ending. The whole romance and plot was ruined for me. Difficult to say why without spoiling the plot. I think the Hero was fixated with his dead love obsessively and never got over her. His reasons for going after the heroine, and the way he did it - which was only really revealed in the last chapters, was just icky. And the neat tidying up of the "who got whose heart" storyline, by inserting another character in the final pages was just silly and an insult to the reader who had spent the entire book trying to figure out the puzzle.
I really enjoyed listening to this book - until the final chapters. But the ending leaves a bitter taste and I will happily delete from my library.
I actually initially filled out my rating for this book at 4 stars for the story and overall (I almost never give 5 stars). This was because I was almost at the end and was enjoying it so much. Then I finished those final chapters and downgraded to one star - I was so angry at the way it ended!
