Fabulous Series. May be best one.

Loved it. Intrigueing plot. Excellent character development. Damn can JD write some heated, tasteful and frankly blood pressure raising sex scenes. Almost too much and too frequent, but not quite. Great book!

Would marry him in a minute

I love Nora Roberts, but resisted reading her as J. D. Robb. I decided to try this summer and got the Audible version of the first in her "In Death" series. I absolutely love the books. I think the character of Eve is real enough. Although I realize that the character of Roarke is only a dream, I pretend that he really could exist. The narration is excellent, and the narrator is one of my favorites. I'm reading them in order.

Eve made me very angry in this one.

Excellent story as always. Susan Ericksen is an amazing narrator as usual. She mispronounces a few words sometimes and I really dislike how she says Peabuddy, instead of Peabody. But an excellent narrator nonetheless. Her voices and accents are top-notch.
Bormally I really admire Eve Dallas's personality and reasoning, I think she's really an amazingly realistic character. But this story made me very angry with her. Condemning someone based on who their parents are is just wrong. And a person in her situation, with her history should know that. She was cruel in this story. It makes the story less enjoyable for me. I know it's supposed to be her job and she's taking it personally because of her own history, but trying to break someone and grinding them into the ground based on who their father is, is just wrong. And the fact that she was so gullible to believe the false trail that she was fed, when she already knew who the guilty party was, was super annoying to me. She was so easily misled. This can't be my favorite story, as it seems to be for so many others, simply based on that one component of the story. I thought she was unnecessarily cruel and easily misled in this story. Otherwise I am a huge fan of this series. I think hers and Ruark's relationship is so real, honest, admirable. But her behavior in this book really throws me off.
