Secondary Characters were my favorite.

Any additional comments?

These are not "heavy" storyline books, but are fun to listen to. Peabody and Rourke were my favorites in this one with their subtle humor as well as the magic/evil aspect. As always, the narrator makes these books their best!

Holy crap!!!

First of all... I love this narrator. Her voice is not only soothing, but clear. She’s got voices for everyone and her comedic timing is impeccable. I can feel and even see the book in my mind as clear as a movie, the way she narrates the story.

The book itself... just fucking wow. Nora Roberts is talented. And more than that, she’s thorough. This book dips very deep into the occult and paganism. Having done many years of my own research into said topics, I say with pride and appreciation that Nora Roberts is the first fictional writer (for books, tv shows or films for that matter) to use accurate information on witchcraft and the occult. Either she’s a witch herself or she spent a great deal of time doing much of the same research I’ve done myself. Satanists and witches/wicans/pagans, while they might have similar styles of practice, are vastly different. Both in creed and in beliefs. She explores the ignorant sides of today’s reactions to the subject of the occult but she also presents the facts. Unfolds them as Eve investigates further into her case. Eventually she even explains the difference between witches and satanists. And let me tell you, almost all of her interpretations of the two religions are true. The only deviations I could find, I firmly believe were more due to plot progression than Roberts personal beliefs on the subject.

Long story short, I’m thrilled and pleased to have read a book that so accurately depicts a lifestyle and religion that’s hard pressed for more positive representation in the media and entertainment industries. She was already an amazing author to me before I read this one. Now...? She’s the best!!!!

Easy to follow

Good reading series, not hard to follow and characters are unique. Bit of suspense, romance and murder!

Bloody Satanist Cult Murders

Okay, this book was just a little too over the top. Eve gets caught up in occult murders, disappearances, and is directed to not tell Feeny about any of it but to investigate on her own. Then, as the story goes along she gets meaner and meaner and it sounds like she actually enjoys being so over the top with her anger and attitude. Of course, by the end of the story she is nearly killed and determines that her suspect isn't guilty. Before she even washes off the blood, she and Roark go home in a blanket to face another murder. I like these books and have read everyone one of the 43 books BUT this one just hit me wrong with the way Eve lost it. That means that the author wrote a perfectly awful murder and that is what these in death books are all about. Hooray for more Eve and Roark stories. Susan Ericksen is a marvelous narrator and captured the intensity of Eve especially well in this book.

Great as usual

Liked this series, I was thrown off and didn’t quite catch the killer in time. I was caught up in the smoke and mirrors. Good stuff.
