I love the way Lisa intertwines characters from different series. I've listened to all of the FBI profiler series back to back and now nearly completed the DD Warren series - also back to back. I wish I had a dollar for every time the words 'fisted' and 'fingered' were used! - not a complaint - just an observation that amuses me!!

Excellent story!

This story keeps you guessing! Great plot & characters. Your heart will ache and you at times will find yourself not sure who to be more sorry for.

Suspence but Language!

It was a timely and good story. But it had too much bad language that has discustingly snuck into our society.

I couldn’t stop listening to this. Such a great story. Some shocking moments it was like sitting on the edge of my seat. A real twist at the end.

Suspense and Surprises

"I'm going to be murdered in four days." That got D. D. Warren's attention! As a Boston homicide detective, Warren is not typically called upon to prevent a murder, but that's the request made of her by a mysterious stranger.

Fast-paced suspenseful story, unfolded in small pieces that the reader can fit together. As more pieces are added, the puzzle has to be rearranged again and again. Just when it all seems clear -- something new! This is the kind of storytelling that appeals to folks who like to figure out "whodunnit" before being told.

The narrator's speaking voice is pleasant, and she enunciates clearly. However, she read two major characters so similarly that I often couldn't tell them apart. When I finally caught on to who was speaking, I wished I could "turn back a page or two" to review what she had said and what it meant.

Having heard one D. D. Warren short story, and then this novel, I'm definitely interested enough in Lisa Gardner's writing to seek out more in this series.

This one really kept me guessing. I was actually sad when I had to do something else I just wanted to know...... I did really enjoy this book, I have never read any of her books but plan to look into more. I also really enjoyed the narrator.

Good story, lots of twist and turns.

I like Kirsten reading. I got a bit confuse as to which character was which because the voices each sounded the same.

New to Audible

I really enjoyed this book. It was smart, riveting, complex but not overly so. Lisa Gardner pulled me in quickly and held me thru to the end.
I thought it might be a ‘chick flick’ but it wasn’t at all. I wanted something different and I got it.

Also, the narration was fantastic. Overall my fav - over a Grisham and Child audiobook.
