Publisher's summary

Detective D. D. Warren has four days to stop a killer in this “shocking…‘must read’”* from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner—one of Library Journal's Best Thrillers of the Year.

Charlene Grant believes she is going to die. For the past few years, her childhood friends have been murdered one by one. Same day. Same time. Now she’s the last of her friends alive, and she’s counting down the final four days of her life until January 21st.

Charlene doesn’t plan on going down without a fight. She has taken up boxing, shooting, and running. She also wants Boston’s top homicide detective, D. D. Warren, to handle the investigation.

But as D. D. delves deeper into the case, she starts to question the woman’s story. Instinct tells her that Charlene may not be in any danger at all. If that’s true, the woman must have a secret—one so terrifying that it alone could be the greatest threat of all.

Gardner at her best

The books I have read by Lisa Gardner are all twisted and have children that are hurt. This one has more twist that a candy cane....Kirsten Potter did a great job giving the charactors their own personalties...Made the morning drive enjoyable

ANOTHER HIT!!!

Once again Lisa Gardner has delivered a mind blowing novel! I STILL don't care for the narrator. It could be SO MUCH better. But the greatness of the story outweighs the lacking of narration. The characters just keep growing and growing in this whole series. And as I've said before...I absolutely love how the author ties up loose ends and doesn't leave you wondering about anything in the end. I will certainly continue this great series and highly recommend it to everyone that loves suspense.

A New Series to Love

This is a great combination of mystery, crime, with a touch of humor. One I will happily listen to again and happily continue on with the series.

another good Lisa Gardner

This was my 5th Lisa Gardner book and I've enjoyed them all. I'm not sure how I heard of her, maybe just seeing here reviews here on audible. I don't frequent bookstores much anymore but when I have I do see her books on the bestseller lists so she must be doing pretty well. As good a writer as she is, I'm sure she is. The author comes up with some evil characters and this one was no different. Set in New England, centered in Boston, this story is a pyschologoical thriller that keeps you turning the pages. I got through this one pretty qucikly. If you've never tried Lisa Gardner, I highly recommend her.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I enjoyed it so much, I brought her newest book

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I had to finish the last five chapter sitting in front of the office.

Cannily Perplexing!

If you could sum up Catch Me in three words, what would they be?

Ambiguously Intriguing Suspense

What other book might you compare Catch Me to and why?

I would compare Catch Me to Carnal Innocence (Nora Roberts) because both are pleasing mystery novels that had me fully engaged and dubious till the end.

What does Kirsten Potter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I have a very active imagination, so I can't say definitively that the story was better due to solely Kirsten's performance. However, that isn't to say that I didn't enjoy her acting skills. Out of my audio books listens, she is one of my favorite voice artists thus far.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

My eyes slightly started to water during the climax. I was just sadden by the muddledness of it all. Side note: I am purposely watching my words, because I don't want to give anything away.

Any additional comments?

Lisa Gardner has gained a new fan...I plan to listen and/or read all of her books now!!! I also will look for other books narrated by Kirsten Potter, since her voice and differentiation amongst the characters' voices were very pleasant and discernable.

Lots of twists

I enjoyed listening to this book. The characters are well defined and likable. There are lots of surprises, and situations that make you wonder. I didn’t figure out who was behind it until the author wanted me to. The reader is good and has a pleasant voice.

Cheesy ending but A MA ZING Plot

If you like unpredictable books, you will definitely like this book. It keeps you guessing really until the very end. I was a bit disappointed with the lead investigators departure leaving home at the end of the book and the last sentence I felt should have been better. It felt a little bit on the nose. But 99.99% of the book is unbelievable

Gripping, Scary

This book addresses several heavy subjects that at times are explained very explicitly, and for some may be disturbing.   The first is about mental illness and all the horrid things that happen to the children of the afflicted that go unchecked.  The second, is concerning the vile subject of pedophilia and last but not least is how a serial killer may relate back to both.

This is my first Lisa Gardner book. She does a masterful job of producing an exciting psychological thriller.   This who done it had me going back and forth until the last few chapters and at times creeped me out.  Good writer, will read more of her work.

The narrator did a good job allowing the heft of the story come through without inflicting to much drama.
