Publisher's summary

Detective D. D. Warren has four days to stop a killer in this “shocking…‘must read’”* from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner—one of Library Journal's Best Thrillers of the Year.

Charlene Grant believes she is going to die. For the past few years, her childhood friends have been murdered one by one. Same day. Same time. Now she’s the last of her friends alive, and she’s counting down the final four days of her life until January 21st.

Charlene doesn’t plan on going down without a fight. She has taken up boxing, shooting, and running. She also wants Boston’s top homicide detective, D. D. Warren, to handle the investigation.

But as D. D. delves deeper into the case, she starts to question the woman’s story. Instinct tells her that Charlene may not be in any danger at all. If that’s true, the woman must have a secret—one so terrifying that it alone could be the greatest threat of all.

Good story, lots of twist and turns.

If you could sum up Catch Me in three words, what would they be?

DD Warren softens.

Which character – as performed by Kirsten Potter – was your favorite?

Charlene

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it took two days.

Any additional comments?

I like Kirsten reading. I got a bit confuse as to which character was which because the voices each sounded the same.

New to Audible

I really enjoyed this book. It was smart, riveting, complex but not overly so. Lisa Gardner pulled me in quickly and held me thru to the end.
I thought it might be a ‘chick flick’ but it wasn’t at all. I wanted something different and I got it.

Also, the narration was fantastic. Overall my fav - over a Grisham and Child audiobook.

Good book if you make it to the end

There was a lot of backstory and side stories involved in this book. Not my favorite by Gardner but still ended with a twist!

DeeDee Rides Again

L. Gardner keeps DeeDee fresh, appealing, smart with a never quit attitude I enjoy. This one's another fast paced who done it that was quite a puzzle. Love to new tenderness that DeeDee's gained ... babies have their own gentle demands on everyone!

Story sort of convoluted but still entertaining. Good character development, good performance execution. Page burner

Good but not as great as the others in the series

I love this series and the narration is superb. This book was good but not as great as the rest of the series. I was glad I got it on sale.

It was filled with surprises--many times I thought I knew who the killer was, and I was so wrong. I love that!

Another wild ride from Lisa Gardner

STORY (police procedural/mystery/thriller) - Wow, can this author write a thriller or what? Listening to the first five minutes of "Catch Me" is some of the best time I've spent as an Audible listener, and the rest of the book continues to deliver. As the summary suggests, Charlene suspects she'll be murdered on the anniversary of the deaths of her two best friends, each being killed one year apart but on the same day. Boston detective DD Warren (female) is trying to help protect Charlene by solving the murders of her two friends, while simultaneously working on a series of internet sexual predator killings. This story has lots more going on to keep it interesting, including a pretty sobering look at mental illness. Then there's an unexpected twist at the end to top everything off.

DD and Charlene are the typical tough-as-nails women I've come to expect from Lisa Gardner. The crimes are intriguing, and the detective work is smart and fast-paced. This would have totally received five stars all across except for two things: (1) DD is the mother to a brand-new baby, and I heard more of that than I cared to, and (2) the way everything wraps up in the end was just a little hard to believe. Thrilling and a great listen, nonetheless!

PERFORMANCE - Love Kirsten Potter. Perfect voice for the characters and great performance of the story.

OVERALL (actual rating 4.5) - If you're looking for an absorbing, thrilling listen, be sure to catch Catch Me by Lisa Gardner. The book addresses some tough issues, and Lisa doesn't flinch. I'm kind of wimpy when it comes to violence, but I was okay listening to everything in this book. That said, this may not be for everyone. Definitely NOT for kids or young teens.
