Nice

A nice beginning with a quirky character. Shelby Nichols drove me crazy with her ineptitude in dealing with her powers in the beginning. At the end she is more wise into how to use her abilities, instead of being used by others and making others uncomfortable. I am going to try the next one. Remember I said quirky, this is not a high level, fast pace, ass kicking woman. She is a housewife. The most action she did was punch someone on the arm.

Ok but no cigar

The narrator could have made the listening experience ever so much better. The story is clever but the heroine is a bit ditzy and occasionally unbelievably dumb. Good for company while driving.

Gangsters and lawyers, oh my.

Loved all the books and purchased them on Kindle. So now am starting the series on Audible.
Wendy King does an excellent job on narration.
Her voices are spot on for the characters. Dialects, and voices to me are spot on with the author's storyline.You will not be disappointed, buy the book and read it.
Better yet buy both and follow along with with Windy's narrative.

Enjoyable.

Will look for more with this character. Story and narration was good. A light read.

Housewife+can read minds=fun mystery+heads up action

There's no eerie mansions, mysterious lakes, chain saws, axes, heroic men who wander the country with only a toothbrush in the pocket, buffed women who can battle 6 opponents at one time and maybe receive a split lip, or paranormal beings who will always protect Man from extinction. It's a rollicking good story about a housewife who not only survives a shot to the head in a bank robbery, she can now read minds! It's nothing elaborate. Theres no exotic lands, futuristic equipment that gifts the user superhuman powers, side kicks to do the menial work and errand running. It's a rollicking tale of a stunned husband, curious, frustrated children, a gangster going good, a hit man who develops feelings for his target, a detective who will solve every case with her help and its all in the local community. It's a fun and funny book! If you have no sense of humor, don't even consider Carrot!

I look forward to every new book! Colleen writes her so very well. They're great!

A light, fun, and surprisingly engaging story

After seeing CARROTS mentioned in an Audible e-mail, I decided to take a chance on this one, and I'm glad I did. Colleen Helme wrote a light and fun story with a great narrator, and Wendy Tremont King does a nice job of bringing it to life. Totally the kind of book you need after reading something dark and heavy.

Must Read - Funny and Makes a Person Smile

Bank robber, hitman, cops. lawyers, a mob boss, and Shelby a fun housewife. learning to juggle them all. She makes mistakes but she always tries to do the right thing. Carrots has brought be back multiple times over the years for a good laugh.

this YA book was Just ok....

This book had a good idea for a story. Their were some funny parts, the narration was good, Shelby (the lead female) continuously lies to her husband even when she didn't need to, which got on my nerves because Chris (her husband) seemed to love his wife no matter how unintelligent she was.

Fun

Likable main character. Fun secondary characters & improbable events. Excellent narration. Already purchased next in series.
