All his life, Reyes Alexander Farrow has suffered the torments of the damned. Only one thing has given him hope: the woman who radiates a light that no mortals can see; a light that only the departed can see....
Told from his point of view, Brighter than the Sun chronicles the first time Reyes ever encountered Charley and how their relationship has been the one thing that can either save him or doom him.

This audiobook shed some light on the mystery that is Alexander Reyes Farrow by giving listeners a brief overview of his childhood, and the evolution of his relationships with the various characters that make up this series. The tone of the story was miles apart from that of the full length installments; it was much darker, told from a male POV, and with limited snark. I really enjoyed the protagonist's interactions with his sister and his BFF, and seeing Charley through Reyes' eyes was a great opportunity to gain extra insight into one of my favourite heroines. I was also glad that they stuck with Lorelei King as the narrator; she's the main reason why I splurged on the audio instead of the much cheaper eBook.
I love urban fantasy, paranormal romance, YA, and dystopian. My favorite authors are Ilona Andrews and Kim Harrison.
I am a big fan of the Charly Davidson series. Reyes is such an amazing character and to hear the story from his pov was awesome!
The narrator, Lorelei King was brilliant as usual!
If you've never read this series, start at book one, First Grave on the Right.

Ugh...poor lil Reyes. Parts were hard to listen to, but man oh man, that Darynda Jones can write!!! It was so good, I wish it had been a full length book...I didnt want it to end.
Loved this book. It was extremely emotional read. Sad to see how Reyes life as a child & teen where so screwed but also incredible to see how his & Charlie's connection is so deep.
This audiobook is definitely worth the buy. I've been waiting to hear more about Reyes' back story and this really gave me a great understanding of what he actually went through. I'm thankful that the narrator is the same even though it is told from Reyes perspective. She did a great job as always!! I will definitely recommend this to anyone who is a Charley Davidson series fan! Another great book by Darynda Jones!
Can't wait for the next book. Lorelei King is great as always. When she reads a book it comes alive. Nice to get to know Reyes a little more, just glad he can't read my thoughts! Lucky Charley.
I'll read just about anything!
Darynda Jones books are always very entertaining I love hearing about Reyes story. for the next one
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Finally a peek inside Reyes brain. Tragic and dark, you really feel for him he had such a horrible childhood. I would have like to have had this book be more about the adult Reyes vs the young Reyes. The story is just a repeat of the story you heard from the other books only from Reyes point of view, the story isn't necessary for the main storyline. Defiantly not as funny as Charlie's books but good for a sale. Love the narrator I am always willing to listen to her.
