In the first book, Through Many Fires, nuclear terrorism strikes the nation's capital and six other American cities. In the second book, A Time to Endure, society continues to unravel, and civil war threatens the divided and economically-crippled land.
Now a new and even more lethal problem emerges. A swift and deadly flu epidemic sweeps out of overcrowded FEMA camps and strikes the nation with horrific results. Caden Westmore struggles to keep his family and community safe, while others use the plague to advance their own military and political agendas. Caden must succeed, but how can he, when both the epidemic and chaos attack his hometown and family?

I really have started to enjoy Kyle Pratt's book series. The story line is believable and entertaining. Character development is really good and as always Kevin Pierce does a great job making it come to life in the audio version.
Ok, I am ready for book 4.
Things are really heating up between the bad US and the good US & Chinese. 4th book has to be war. Hero finally gets the right woman just in time before old flame shows up as a supposed turn coat .
I really enjoyed this series. The character development really made me care about the story and their lives. Then came the end, the final battle and series wrapped up in 22 minutes. I was ready to purchase book 4 but it was over.
This book picked up right where the last left off and unlike many other authors, this one doesn't rehash old storylines. You could also pick up this book without ever reading the others and would be able to follow the storyline with no problem.
