Publisher's summary

A bloodthirsty lake monster menaces a small town in the Ozarks....

When the men find him, the boy’s legs look like they were run through a wood-chipper. He’s bleeding heavily and near death, but he still has strength to tell them of the monster that attacked him: a dark, massive creature that emerged from the bottom of the lake. The child dies before he can say more.

c When another body is found chewed to pieces, the Sheriff begins to wonder what evil lies at the bottom of Big Water Lake.

Not the best I've read.

Somewhat of a mediocre story without a great deal of entertainment value. It was so-so.

Anti-climatic

While I thought the story was interesting, it was truly anti-climatic. I knew the twist all along, and wasn't surprised. Overall, it's a pretty easy listen.

Don't waste your $ or credits.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The mother of the narrator.

Would you be willing to try another book from John Lutz? Why or why not?

I'm still Listening to him. This book was just aweful, really. It's like he threw this one out to make a quota.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator seemed to be reading like a 9th grader who's been asked to read a paragraph. No inflection, nothing that stood out. Just the same dullness throughout.

What character would you cut from Bonegrinder?

Everyone.

Any additional comments?

This narrator should work on his different characters voices. Happiness actual has a different tone in a person's voice. Sadness as well.

Not his best work!!

What disappointed you about Bonegrinder?

Its monotony of the story was excruciating. I think this story had potential to be good, but just never got there. I found myself being GLAD that it wasn't longer and only finished the book so I'd know what bonegrinder was. Definitely NOT the best work John Lutz has done, not even close.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment and boredom
