Publisher's summary

The number-one New York Times best-selling author is back with an electrifying new entry in the FBI series featuring Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock.

FBI Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith, last seen in Backfire, has been recruited by Dillon Savich to join his unit in Washington, D.C. Savich sees something special in Hammersmith, an almost preternatural instinct for tracking criminals. While on his way to D.C., Hammersmith plans to visit his sister, Delsey, a student at Stanislaus School of Music in Maestro, Virginia. Before he arrives, he gets a phone call that Delsey has been found naked and unconscious, lying in a pool of blood, after a wild party. The blood isn’t hers - so to whom does it belong? Griffin must protect Delsey, but from whom?

Meanwhile, back in D.C., FBI Agents Savich and Sherlock have their hands full when the grandson of a former Federal Reserve Bank chairman is found murdered, every bone in his body broken, his corpse frozen at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial. Was it revenge against his grandfather for the banking crisis, or something more insidious and personal?

It’s a bitter winter, and in the endless cold, evil lurks.

I am not even half way thru - narration- UGH!!

The story is pretty good- but for some reason it is not just being read - but “performed” and not well. The voice of the young lead character in one of the stories sounds like a 70 year old woman and is difficult to take. I have increased the speed to 1.2 to try to get thru it faster. I really like this author and am so irked by this narration.

Poor narration by Paul Costanzo

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Because the male narration was so awful, this was a book I would have preferred to read.

Would you recommend Bombshell to your friends? Why or why not?

The book yes, but I would never recommend the audiobook. The male narration was stiff and unnatural, more like reading.

Would you be willing to try another one of Renee Raudman and Paul Costanzo ’s performances?

No

Did Bombshell inspire you to do anything?

No

Any additional comments?

The male narration was so bad I will avoid books narrated by him in the future.

Worst narration of any book

I couldn't finish due narration. It was choppy and sounded like someone in grade school was reading to me. Wasted a credit on this one.

the narraters are so boring it was hard to listen

What did you like best about Bombshell? What did you like least?

I liked the story but it was difficult to listen because of the narrators which can make or break an audio book.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

not really because of the narrators, the story was good and that is the only reason I kept listening. I love the author but she needs to listen to this audiobook and see what I mean.

What didn’t you like about Renee Raudman and Paul Costanzo ’s performance?

They were monotone and were unbelievable as the characters.

Do you think Bombshell needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would purchase it if someone else read it

Excellent Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It is so well written. I have read others and have gotten to know the main characters. The narrators bring the story alive.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. Multiple stories and the mystery of who did what.

What does Renee Raudman and Paul Costanzo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Excellent. I love the books and the fact that Renee and Paul have narrated so many of them. I love there voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Yes but it would be hard. I could see that as a movie

Any additional comments?

Keep up writing the FBI series.

One of her best FBI books!

I thought the two stories complemented each other. The southern twang was interesting. The College friendships were bittersweet.

The worst Narration I have every Heard.

What did you like best about Bombshell? What did you like least?

Best - Story, but hard to follow because I kept dropping off because of the poor Narration.

Worst - The worst Narration I have every Heard. If I wanted to listen to a mono-tone I would have returned to High School History Class.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Renee Raudman and Paul Costanzo ?

Nearly anyone else. Some one with felling and excitement in their voices.

Did Bombshell inspire you to do anything?

Restart each chapter. Needed to because ..... well see above.

good but

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes, if they like the FBI and Coulter series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bombshell?

Too many to list.

What does Renee Raudman and Paul Costanzo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Character makes them real.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

I couldn't figure out how Sherlock and Savage's story would intertwine with the other one. I kept thinking it had to join in some way. But it really didn't at all. We actually get two crimes and are being solved separately. They join in character, but not in storyline. I felt I would rather have one story and include the Savage's. I enjoy meeting other FBI etc characters, but I like Savage family and their story, so when the book revolves around others it feels like a bit of a cheat. It isn't since the other characters are quite interesting, yet........ya know?

Typical Catherine Coulter

The storyline is typical of the author...not very deep...you need not think too much about what's going on. Unfortunately, Paul Costanzo is a rather bad narrator and Renee Raudman isn't much better. (We get spoiled by the really good narrators.)
