Publisher's summary

As did his three immensely popular series Brotherhood of War, The Corps, and Badge of Honor, W.E.B. Griffin's novel of World War II espionage Honor Bound became an immediate best seller: "A superior war story" (Library Journal) "whose twists and turns keep readers guessing until the last page" (Publishers Weekly). Now the characters of Honor Bound are back, in an adventure as exciting as anything Griffin has crafted.

It is April 1943, and Marine aviator Cletus Frade, Army demolition's wizard Anthony Pelosi, and communications expert David Ettinger are thrust again into the lethal nest of intrigue that is wartime Buenos Aires. A clandestine German vessel sets sail to resupply submarines in the South Atlantic...as a massive shipment of money earmarked for postwar Reich makes its way to South America...and a coup designed to topple the government reaches critical mass. In the midst of it all, the German-ordered assassination of Cletus Frade's father demands only one response: revenge. Threading their way carefully between Axis and Allied sympathizers, and even between rival OSS and FBI factions, the three solidiers must strive their utmost not only to fulfill their missions - but just to stay alive. And for that, even their utmost may not be enough....

Written with all the energy and expertise that Griffin's listeners have come to expect, filled with drama and authentic heroes, Blood and Honor is a captivating novel sure to please fans old and new.

Great book - horrible narrator

If you could sum up Blood and Honor in three words, what would they be?

W.E.B Griffin is a great writer but how they could ever let this narrator read any book is beyond me. He is absolutely horrible. Very slow, monotone and terrible pronunciation. And when he tries to change voices for different characters is even worse. I was horrified to see how many of Griffin's books he has narrated. I would think that someone would have figured it out after the first book and kicked him out the door and locked it behind him.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He was the worst ever narrator. Monotone, slow and poor pronunciation.

Ill be looking to avoid this narrator in future.

I have read this book in print before and enjoyed the book enough to buy the audio. I bought it like most of my audios so I could listen to it while I do other things. Saying that, it almost hurt to listen to this book because of the narrator. The first chapter is read in a voice that reminds me of a comedian I herd making fun of ridiculous voices. When he started getting into the many voices of the South American characters in later chapters, his attempt to sound like different South American people made me want to turn to another book all together just to get away from this narrator.

Too bad they won't reread this.

My favorite author. W E B has had my vote since I was young. I listen too these series as I travel and have listened to them multiple times. This must have been one of Michael's first readings and I find it unbelievable the production staff ever allowed this to be recorded. PLEASE redo this one. I have heard Michael since and he does well.

Pathetic

This book is over 20 years old and still hasn't been remastered. If I could have given the the performance a zero star it still would have been too generous. The story was decent (before the author started getting lazy or senile) and was enjoyable so I finished it.

Horrible narrator

He makes almost everyone sound like a moron. If this was the first book of the series I would have quickly returned it. Unfortunately I was already invested in the story and since this is the only book that the worlds worst narrator narrated, I suffered through it. I have over 500 audible titles and this is the worst narrator of all. Period.

Great book, terrible reading!

I have almost 200 audio books in my personal library. While WEB Griffin is a master at writing, Michael Russotto is the worst narrator I have ever come across. Many of the characters come across more female than male. In my opinion this is an exceptionally bad reading and materially detracts from an otherwise great book. So poor is the reading that I cannot recommend this as an audio book.

OK but could have had a better narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood and Honor to be better than the print version?

Since I am medically blind this is better than trying to read it

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

no

How could the performance have been better?

different narrator. sounds like a priss

the triumph of poor narration

Would you try another book from W. E. B. Griffin and/or Michael Russotto?

WEB Griffin can and does tell a good story. However poor narration trumps a good story. Yes to Griffin but NO to the narrator

What did you like best about this story?

Lots of well integrated facts and details along with a fine cast of characters make the story in grossing and believable.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

the main problem Mr. Russotto had was reading with such a stolid and deliberate cadence that the only was I could compensate was to listen to this book at 1.5X. While this was not a real cure, it did help.
