Publisher's summary

As did his three immensely popular series Brotherhood of War, The Corps, and Badge of Honor, W.E.B. Griffin's novel of World War II espionage Honor Bound became an immediate best seller: "A superior war story" (Library Journal) "whose twists and turns keep readers guessing until the last page" (Publishers Weekly). Now the characters of Honor Bound are back, in an adventure as exciting as anything Griffin has crafted.

It is April 1943, and Marine aviator Cletus Frade, Army demolition's wizard Anthony Pelosi, and communications expert David Ettinger are thrust again into the lethal nest of intrigue that is wartime Buenos Aires. A clandestine German vessel sets sail to resupply submarines in the South Atlantic...as a massive shipment of money earmarked for postwar Reich makes its way to South America...and a coup designed to topple the government reaches critical mass. In the midst of it all, the German-ordered assassination of Cletus Frade's father demands only one response: revenge. Threading their way carefully between Axis and Allied sympathizers, and even between rival OSS and FBI factions, the three solidiers must strive their utmost not only to fulfill their missions - but just to stay alive. And for that, even their utmost may not be enough....

Written with all the energy and expertise that Griffin's listeners have come to expect, filled with drama and authentic heroes, Blood and Honor is a captivating novel sure to please fans old and new.

Absolutely awful

Good book. Terrible experience.

I love Griffin's books, but the narrator of this book couldn't have been much worse. His affectations of German and Argentine dialects are horrible, and his reading is excruciatingly slow and boring I didn't even look at the reviews before I bought it as I was so excited to get this latest release. If you're like me and you have to have this Griffin book, just know that it is very, very hard to listen to. I hope I never hear this narrator again.

Huge disappointment

Read the book, this is almost impossible to listen to. The narrator has ruined this book. His pronunciations are horrible, and inaccurate. He reads like a fifth grader. I would be embarrassed to have read a book professionally like this.

W.E.B. Griffin is such an accomplished writer, it is sad to hear his book read like this.

Bad, Bad, Bad

I love W.E.B Griffin books and all the audio books before this, but this audio book is the worst. I feel that for the first time I really got burned by this one. the narrator is just the most boring and monotone I have ever heard. DO NOT WASTE A CREDIT ON THIS AUDIO BOOK !!!!! I sure wish I hadn't.

big disappointment

I read the book before, but listing to this reader,at the slow speed he is reading put me to sleep. His pronunciation of the German is totally wrong. It's "Leibstandarte" meaning Hitler's Bodyguards, not "Liebstandarte" this has nothing to do with " Lieb- Love".
Scott Brick should have been chosen as the reader.

Narration terrible

Love the author and have read all of his books. But please don't use this narrator again. He is so articulate it sounds robotic.

Come on!

If you can't afford a good Narrator then don't make a Audio book!! It has to be the worst narration I have ever heard. I will remember Micheal Rossotto and never buy another one he has narrated.

Narrated by computer

The narrator makes this book un-listenable, I have never been so completely dissappointed in a narrator's delivery. I love W.E.B. Griffins books and have listened to most but I honestly can not make it more that a few minutes into this book before the narrators voice....... I highly suggest you listen to a sample before you make this purchase and consider carefully whether you can listen to the sound of this voice for hours and hours. I wish I had......

Great Book, Horrible Narrator. Beware.

I just don't get it. I'm trying to figure out who would like to listen to this narrator. Perhaps someone new to the English language? Each word is spoken slowly, and every sentence seems to follow the same cadence. I whole-heartedly recommend, as did another reviewer, that you listen to a sample before purchasing.

I have disregarded comments about poor narration in the past, but you really must heed this warning. When narrators fall down, it is usually in certain types of character voices. While that happens here as well (several Nazis sound like 8 year old girls), the basic parts of the text are painful to listen to.

How do I know it's a great book? I've read it before. Now I'm faced with an audio book that I likely can't listen to past the third chapter.

Blood and Honor

I am an avid W.E.B. Griffin fan. I am very glad that I began my appreciation of his books by reading them in print form. I have read the entire Men at War series and the Corp series. Luckily, the reader used for the first Honor Bound series book was excellent or I might have disliked this series as much as I dislike this reader. Michael Russotto is the worst book reader that I have ever heard and I have been an Audible member for more than 5 years. Please, Please, Please never use this reader again for any book series. The book is very good but you might just want to go buy the paperback or visit the library.

Great Book Horrible narrator

I sure do miss Dick Hill.Great book, but the Russotto's narration is horrible. Can we all go in together and hire Dick Hill to re-read this one?
