Publisher's Summary

The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire. Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined. Blood Oath is the first in a series of novels featuring Nathaniel Cade-the President's vampire.

"Bloody good start to a new series"

An enjoyable start to a new series. Truly enjoyed the new take on the classic movie monsters and the impact and interaction in a post 9/11 world seemed very believable in the story telling. Downside it took me a while to get over the narrator's voice but once I got sucked into the story I didn't even notice or mind how irritating some of the characters' voices were.

"Good Start To A Supernatural Thriller Series"
Would you listen to Blood Oath again? Why?

Yes because I dig this type of story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cade, reminded me of Jack Bauer if he were turned into a vampire.

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is a great narrator, made good choices in tone and characterization in the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Some Oaths Are Forever

    Any additional comments?

I find myself drawn this type of story lately. The supernatural thriller/ urban fantasy genres. Blood Oath fits both. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

    "LOVED THIS BOOK...GREAT PREMISE!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Oath to be better than the print version?

Yes, simply because the narrator Bronson Pinchot is INCREDIBLE!! He is one of the the best narrators of all time. His voices and accents for each character is different. His narration is superb!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. I love books about vampires, and this storyline was really interesting and different. This is the first book in a series, and there are questions that you find yourself asking but you are not sure when or how they will be answered

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As I mentioned / commented above...his narration is one of the best! His voice of the main character is perfect...just the right amount of spooky vampire without going over the top. And he does different voices for all the characters...If the character is an older gentleman, he makes him sound older...plus every accent you can imagine.

    Any additional comments?

    GREAT SERIES!!!

    "Great Performance"
Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to Bronson's other performances, but I would have to say I was pleasantly surprised how well he did. He did a great job.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's a very entertaining book and Bronson Pinchot does a great job narrating. Decent character development and it has a good flow to it.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It did, it had a lot of action without being too "detaily"

    ".....Nightmare Pet....."

I was drawn to this because Bronson Pinchot is the narrator. This book provides plenty of opportunity for Pinchot to display his characterization skills. For me, a Pinchot devotee, this is enough. I was pleased to discover that this is more like a political thriller than it is a horror novel—think Jack Reacher, Jack Ryan, Mitch Rapp. Plenty of action and life-saving heroics in defense of America. Did I mention sarcasm? There is sarcasm in plenty. This is a fun book. The plot is well constructed with a discernable beginning, middle development, and satisfying ending. Oh yea, did I mention that Bronson Pinchot is excellent? Well he is great. If you have come to the conclusion, as I have, that a great narrator can make almost any book a pleasant listening experience. In this case the book is interesting in its own right—adding Pinchot makes this a movie playing in your head.

    "SPOILER ALERT: This Book Blows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

From tedious dialog to sloppy transitions this is one of the worst books I've listened to in a long time. How some people become published authors is beyond my understanding. Well done Christopher Farnsworth. You've beat the system and made money doing it.
