The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire. Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined. Blood Oath is the first in a series of novels featuring Nathaniel Cade-the President's vampire.

Overall a good book in that the concept was different and it combined suspense with some mythology.
The whole concept of the "Black World" just outside the public knowledge and Nathanial Kade's demeanor and the exact interpretation of his oath are a solid foundation for the books. The relationship between Nathanial and his handlers as well as his recognition of who he is and how he fits into the whole scenario is so creative and well written. Don't want to say too much.
DON'T MISS IT!
One of the top 5.
Very good performance.
The President of the U.S.A. has a secret weapon...
I really enjoyed this book, so much so I listened to it in one shot. I found the plot had several twists and turns with creative characters drawing me in more and more.
This is not your typical vampire book but that shouldn't discourage you from buying it! I don't want to give anything away but the author has a real talent for writing sarcasm.
I'm on to book 2 now!
This was an exciting read. I was drawn by the concept and really got hooked right away. This book never let's you lose interest. I really looked for every opportunity to get in my car and drive, and listen to the tale unfold. I can't wait until the next adventure of the President's Vampire. I hope someone is smart enough to turn this vampire story into a major movie!!
This is not your bubble gum vampire book. Nor is it the sexy seductress variety. The Blood Oath is an action packed story, starting off on a secret mission you learn that there is something different going on. Then you learn that the main character in the story is a vampire, sworn to protect the President and the innocent people of The United States. He's not your average vampire, he's your special ops Marine vampire with the highest security clearance! Kuddo's to Christopher Farnsworth in his research and portrayal of the characters. I was sad to see this one end.
Great story line and the narration was perfect. This one will keep you captivated. Can't wait for the next one..
This is the first vampire book I've every read, and I was quite pleasantly surprised. It held my interest from beginning to end, and was funny at times as well. Despite the far-fetched nature of subject matter, I found the characters believable.
I had a hard time focusing on the interesting story, (which was genuinely interesting despite the cheesy story summary), because of the constant stream of "f" words. This may not bother some readers/listeners, and I can handle one or two in a book, but this one was over the top.
The voice talent was pretty good. He did a good job with subtle accents. His voice for the main character sounded more like a whiney 14 year old than an adult White House staffer. Overall, he did a good job.
