Publisher's summary

The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire. Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined. Blood Oath is the first in a series of novels featuring Nathaniel Cade-the President's vampire.

Great new take with even better performance!

Fresh and interesting take on the vampire/urban fantasy genre. Well developed characters and plot. Creative delivery of the story at times.

My favorite part is Bronson Pinchot's performance! He is simply the best in the audiobook world. He breaths life into each character.

Highly recommend this audiobook!

Loved it-mostly.

This was a book I finished in almost record time. Action packed. Great narration - Pinchot is perhaps my favorite narrator. Great story line. The villains were truly villains, but the hero is also somewhat of a villain & openly acknowledges that. The only thing I didn't like was the taking of my God's name in vain a number of times. I found that both unnecessary & very offensive. No one takes Allah's name in vain. Or anyone else's God, so why the Christian God? I won't turn this into a sermon. It & the couple of graphic sex scenes (I love the jump forward button) were the only bad parts of the book. Well worth a listen.

Vamps meet CIA, a perfect mix

This is not your bubble gum vampire book. Nor is it the sexy seductress variety. The Blood Oath is an action packed story, starting off on a secret mission you learn that there is something different going on. Then you learn that the main character in the story is a vampire, sworn to protect the President and the innocent people of The United States. He's not your average vampire, he's your special ops Marine vampire with the highest security clearance! Kuddo's to Christopher Farnsworth in his research and portrayal of the characters. I was sad to see this one end.

Pretty interesting

A very good mix of supernatural elements with some interesting plot points. Overall, it just never really came together for me in a cohesive story.

Fabulous summer read

I had been through a couple of really bad books right after I finished The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (which I loved). I decided on this one as a lark and I am impressed. You won't be sorry. I do love a good vampire story that plays like a movie in my head.

Great spin on supernatural world

This has broaded the vampire genre with its political action. Where most vampire novels are romantic in idea.
Definitely recommend this to supernatural and vampire fans.

The narrator was ok at first, it took me a bit to get use to him. Overall the narrator and author did superb.

Hope there are more to come.

This would be a good movie or video game

What made the experience of listening to Blood Oath the most enjoyable?

The narrator is very good at the various character's voices.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, I purchase audio books so that I can do other things at the same time that I listen, (pay bills, check email, do things around the house). I got nothing done, I just listened to the book.

Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't but I am impressed with him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Cane fought the order to drink human blood. It was sad.

Highly Entertaining -- More, Please...

If you could sum up Blood Oath in three words, what would they be?

Monsters are REAL

What did you like best about this story?

Zach and Cade's interactions are well written and draw you ever deeper into the story. The mini-flashbacks provide great insight into the beginnings of Cade's story, but their brevity allows the main story to continue it's fast pace toward a very satisfying crescendo.

What about Bronson Pinchot’s performance did you like?

Fantastic work. My first listen to Mr. Pinchcot, and I'm now a dedicated fan of his work.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Monsters are real, and want to end us all. But we have a secret weapon... our very own Monster.

Any additional comments?

Get this book! And then get the next two! And then wait impatiently (like me) for the next installment!

Exciting

Really exciting story. Refreshing to hear a vampire tale so different from most stories. I couldn't put it down.
