Publisher's summary

FBI agents Savich and Sherlock face two baffling cases in this riveting novel of knife-edge suspense from #1 New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter.

When 6-year-old Sam Kettering manages to escape after being kidnapped, FBI Agents Lacey Sherlock and Dillon Savich join forces with the boy’s father Miles—an ex FBI agent—to pursue his kidnapper, a creepy, charasmatic Southern evangelist.

As if the kidnapping case weren’t enough, Savich and Sherlock are at the same time desperate to find the cold-blooded killer of three high school math teachers in the Washington, D.C. area.

Not as good as hoped

The story is interesting but there are too many illogical problems. I can't imagine any law enforcement officers making so many mistakes.

Blindsided- know the feeling

I feel rather blind-sided by this Coulter story. It is overly built with too many loose ends and a implausible storyline that does not have a smooth arc. The narrator is disappointing, with silly accents and strange pronunciations. Not one of the best and closer to the other end of the spectrum of FBI books

A fun read.....

I thought I at the beginning I wouldn't like this book and ended up thoroughly enjoying. A simple and entertaining story about Dillon and Sherlock, some bad guys and some good guys. And they all lived happily ever after. Reduced speed to .95 first time ever out of >400 Audible reads. The reader pace was just too fast when I began to read. She did a good job with all the voices, imo. 😃

Don’t read if looking for a mystery

Reader did lots of bad voices. Waaaayyy too much kid conversation where nothing was happening. Plot lines regarding relationships were not believable. I’ve read all the prior FBI series and she seems to have run out of mystery stories. The FBI part of the story seemed an afterthought. It is an obvious rehash of her formula stories. Skip this one in the FBI series. Enjoyed the prior ones.

Hold off

This is my first time listening to a book by Catherine Coulter and it will probably by my last. Narrator and writing is horrible!! The story is set in Virginia and I know for a fact, living in North Carolina, the twang and the stupidity of this book is not REALISTIC for this area. Maybe if I had listened to a different book by this author before this one, I may have liked it. Don't know and not willing to waste another credit to find out!
