The Ministry of Defence agrees to a request from a national newspaper to put a journalist on board Indomitable. Grace is young, black and something of an expert on the region. Under formidable international pressure, though, the ship is suddenly recalled to Portsmouth - to the furious incomprehension of Grace and other crew members. Against the express wishes of the Foreign Office, Cameron turns the ship around, back to Africa in support of the courageous opposition leader whose execution is neatly timed to coincide with the counting of the election votes.

Would make a great movie this would - thoroughly enjoyed it: A compelling work of fiction - all good
Having listened to mostly non-fiction audio books, I found this to be a well written bit of mind candy. The bad guys are all bad & thus disposable. The good guys, while flawed, still choose to use what power they have to take out the trash. If John McLaren had another book on Audible.com I would consider buying it. David Rintoul did a good job of narration given the plot & characters of the book. Coming back to reality, I sincerely hope that modern war ship captains don't just take matters into their own hands every time a scum bag deserves justice.
