Black Ops

This is my 3rd audiobook. My first by W.E.B.
The book started out with action, very first thing. It was a little confusing putting the characters in place, at first. Then it became very interesting and was a good read. You have to follow it close at first then once the plot is in place it takes off on a great story. It is rated PG and sometimes R just due to the descriptive nature of the lead character and Russian spy girl. I did enjoy it and it wasn't out of place. Overall, good job. The narrator also make the story come alive, he also did a good job. Will read the next adventure of these spies for sure.

This download skipped!

Many times during this audio book it skipped, pretty annoying to listed to an audio file that skips, I could just buy the audio book on CD if I wanted to deal with that!!! The story is great and Dick Hill is an amazing reader!

May be the best in this series.

After listening for the second time, I decided this is a pretty good book. It may be the best in the series. Black Ops is long at 18 hours so it isn't something for a single sitting. At times the action slows and there is the somewhat annoying pattern of repeating the story. The author does this, I assume, to keep the reader abreast of the nuances of the basic story-line as there are so many diversions into sub-plots and backgrounds. He inserts it into the text camouflaged as educating some character within the story.

While this author is somewhat a stickler for historical facts - his trademark is weaving good fiction around historical facts -- sometimes his timeline is out-of-step. But, it is fiction and a good suspension of reality so I cannot fault minor timeline hiccups.

The narrator does an excellent job of various characters, both male and female.

Black Ops is a good listen.

Great listen, just too many needless details

I love the Griffin series that centre on Charlie Castillo and the OOA. This title is probably the best one as it ties many things up from previous novels in the series. Only problem I really had was all the repetitive minute details that really have no bearing on the story especially after hearing them for the third or fourth time. Still I enjoyed the audio book very much.
