Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor comes his most explosive thriller yet. Packed with action, intrigue, and sublime plotting, Black List is the ultimate tale of deception in a world where "even in death" secrets can no longer be kept.

Somewhere, deep inside the United States government, is a deadly list. Members of Congress never get to see it and only the president has the final say over it. Once your name is on the list, it doesn't come off - until you're dead.

Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath's name to the list.

Somehow, Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has framed him for treason and why they want him out of the way.

Somewhere, someone, somehow can put all the pieces together. The only question is: Will Harvath get to that person before the United States comes under the most withering domestic terrorist attack ever conceived?

This book is Faction- Facts combined with Fiction

This is my first Brad Thor book, but definately not my last. I enjoyed the interview between the author and the reader at the end of this book. I found the insight to our government revealed in this book alarming. Clearly we all need to be more informed than we are currently. I would highly recommend this book.

Love the FACTION!

What did you love best about Black List?

It has to be that even though this is a work of fiction, I can really see this happening.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Oh yes. To see the depths that people will go to get and maintain power.

Have you listened to any of Armand Schultz???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Top notch. He is spectacular

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

How safe are you???

Any additional comments?

I really enjoy every one of these books. I love Scott H. and how his character has matured. He is America's version of James Bond. I can't wait to listen to the next book. Thank you!

Really liked this book a lot.
Our government is Kind of scary and real all at the same time. A reality check in this world we live in now even though it's a novel.
Really like this story and how it feels like we are in this exact spot in time.
Great job, great suspense, great characters! Keep them coming!

Cutting edge technology thriller.

Wow. The danger inherent in the surveillance state we have become is breathtaking and Thor takes you through a scary plot by a private NGO ties to the NSA and offers just one scenario that’s absolutely possible and has devastating ramifications if seen through to its end. Schultz takes 7-8 chapters to warm up but he gets going and you forget he’s there which is exactly what you want in narrator.

boring dialogue

1st 6-7 hours were so boring!! way to much effort to explain the NSA/ATS back story and why we should care about government spying. I honestly read these types of books because of the action and hero vs bad guy confrontations. This is supposed to be a fictional action book. I kept listening only because I assumed at some point it would go back to being what I had expected. It seemed like an obvious attempt prove the writer could do something besides the normal spy action book. Unfortunately the normal spy action is the reason I even chose this series. Very boring and the ending was not worth the previous 10 hours

A Worthy Successor to 'Full Black'

I love thrillers where the main character kicks butt... and Scot Harvath does a lot of that in this book!

It picks up right where 'Full Black' left off - smack dab in the action with Scot Harvath. For this reason I highly recommend you listen to 'Full Black' first to set this one up.

This volume centers around a conspiracy that - though some of its elements may sound farfetched - rings with a lot of truth and may just give you chills at how close to reality it could actually be. As usual, Armand Schultz brings the characters to life and keeps the book interesting even through some of the longer infodumps. This book also fleshes out some of the backstories for some of the characters too.

While I still have to give Flynn the nod for writing truly epic thrillers that bring everything together just right, Brad Thor gives him a run for his money. If you like Flynn, you will probably like this, too. Definitely recommended.
