Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor comes his most explosive thriller yet. Packed with action, intrigue, and sublime plotting, Black List is the ultimate tale of deception in a world where "even in death" secrets can no longer be kept.

Somewhere, deep inside the United States government, is a deadly list. Members of Congress never get to see it and only the president has the final say over it. Once your name is on the list, it doesn't come off - until you're dead.

Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath's name to the list.

Somehow, Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has framed him for treason and why they want him out of the way.

Somewhere, someone, somehow can put all the pieces together. The only question is: Will Harvath get to that person before the United States comes under the most withering domestic terrorist attack ever conceived?

Another excellent Brad Thor novel

I enjoyed the book. The explanation of the high tech computer spying done right here in America is very troubling. I wish it was all fiction but it is not. The book is worth reading just to get a reality check on what good old Uncle Sam is up to. It will give you pause next time you do a Google search.

The story is fast paced and fun. Very entertaining if you like seeing the bad guys get what is coming to them like I do.

Continues to amaze

I have read all of the Scott Harbath books and am thrilled to follow his exploits. I keep thinking to myself that he is so young to have gained so much knowledge and physical ability.

Good story... just not a 5 star

Another fine story by Brad Thor. Great character building and a great performance by Armand Schultz. I especially liked the Q&A between Thor and Schultz at the end of the book. It is interesting to hear from both of them how the book and the narration come together. It is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be. Thor's stories have such "possibilities" that make them seem real instead of fantasy. He researches the topics and places and people that he uses for his book. I have even looked up events to see what was the reality and in this book (I won't give it away) but I looked up something they mentioned from WWII and low and behold, It was right. I love the Harvath books and hope he will continue to bring them to us and not just let him die off or whatever.

Great Read (Listening)

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

So far I have listened to or read a majority of Brad Thor's book and have yet to have a bad or even a mediocre experience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Scot Harvath, good hero, believable character. I also like the Troll. It is easy to get on his side as the underdog and sympathize or even empathize with him.

Have you listened to any of Armand Schultz’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Good reader with a great performance voice

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, as I seldom have enough time to listen to a book in one sitting

Thor is always on point

Would you consider the audio edition of Black List to be better than the print version?

Well I don't know because I have not read the print version, but I certainly doubt it.

What other book might you compare Black List to and why?

When I think of any Brad Thor book I automatically associate it with anything by Vince Flynn, they are two of the very best in this genre.

Have you listened to any of Armand Schultz’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and as a matter of fact I often seek Armand Schultz out because I enjoy him so much. To answer the question "Black List" is another brilliant performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No

Finally, competition for Mitch Rapp

Would you listen to Black List again? Why?

Yes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nicholas.

Which character – as performed by Armand Schultz – was your favorite?

The villain. Mr. Schultz really gives personality to this character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I couldn't turn it off.

Any additional comments?

I'm a huge Mitch Rapp fan. I started listening to Brad Thor in between Mitch Rapp releases to pass the time between books. This is the first Scot Harvath book that rivals the Mitch Rapp series. I think Mr. Thor has finally caught up with Vince Flynn as far as action, depth, and character development.
