Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor comes his most explosive thriller yet. Packed with action, intrigue, and sublime plotting, Black List is the ultimate tale of deception in a world where "even in death" secrets can no longer be kept.

Somewhere, deep inside the United States government, is a deadly list. Members of Congress never get to see it and only the president has the final say over it. Once your name is on the list, it doesn't come off - until you're dead.

Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath's name to the list.

Somehow, Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has framed him for treason and why they want him out of the way.

Somewhere, someone, somehow can put all the pieces together. The only question is: Will Harvath get to that person before the United States comes under the most withering domestic terrorist attack ever conceived?

Continuing the battle but at home

Typical Scott Harvath but this time his job is within the US. A good story and excellent job by Armand Schultz. Interesting plot involving current NSA capabilities - with a scary "if you think about it too much" use of available computer technology. Scott makes use of some old allies we haven't heard from in quite a while. The movie title probably would be "Who is Watching the Watchers?"
Readers who like this book would probably enjoy David Suarez's "Daemon" and "Freedom".

Great pace and depth of story

The themes address true issues facing our country most of which we do not think about, but are ever present.

The future is NOW

We have sooo much information out there about almost every facet of our lives and we should be aware that it is something that could at any time be used against us if the right people get ahold of it. A word to the wise!

Offensive language

I’m a 67 year old woman that loves your books but hates the *uck word! Must you use it so often. Please try to tone it down. Would you use the word so freely around your mother? Sure the bad guys and some of the good guys probably use the word on a regular basis but I and other people that feel the same about the bad language don’t have to buy books that have it in it.
You have a great talent and gift for words and story, surely you can write as effectively and not use such foul language.
Thank you for listening to an old woman that loves to listen to good stories.

A book to read that is becoming more relevant by the day.

The book really makes you think and perhaps changes your mind about everyday technology.
I liked that it made me realize how vulnerable we are as a society.

Black List for a Black Future?

I can only say this-- It is frightening. After the recent elections, and after reading this book, I truly worry about the future of this country. I can only hope that Thor is not a prophet.

Enjoyed this one thoroughly

Would you consider the audio edition of Black List to be better than the print version?

No, I would consider them equal. Armand does an amazing job portraying the characters in a very creative manner.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it was active, engaging, and not completely predictable

Have you listened to any of Armand Schultz’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Armand Schultz's performance on these Brad Thor book are by far better than any of the other performers. Other performers mispronounce words and don't truly catch the emotion behind the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No
