Taking a Chance

Just a note about the narrator. I’ve read almost all of Nora Roberts books over a period of too many years to count. I’ve only listened to a few on audible. Initially, I was surprised to hear a. male narrator and thought I was going to dislike it because it would detract or somehow lessen the emotional tug of the story. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. THE NARRATOR GAVE AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE. I actually loved it told from that perspective

this was a bit different from most Nora Roberts books in the setting. I enjoyed it though. Neat descriptions of South Dakota!

Educational as well as being a romantic suspence novel. Great characters, knowledge and buildup by an author who knows how to entertain.

Great Story!! Excellent narration!!

I loved Nick Podehl’s performance, specifically his voice assignments to each character! His depictions were well chosen and well performed. The storyline certainly kept my interest. That said, I think the story contained too much description of love-making. It was redundant and I wound up skipping ahead through those scenes in order to keep from feeling so bogged down. The descriptions were very graphic and memorable, and therefore did not need to be described every time a couple made love. Overall, I highly recommend this book to adults of any age. I have never read or listened to a book by Nora Roberts that I did not love! Black Hills is no exception.

Never disappoints

Nora Roberts never let’s you down. It’s a romance but with enough detail and complications to grab and hold your interest.

One of her best books of all times

I don’t always have time to sit still and read a book and this is one of my favorite authors and her books ! This is allowing me to get my read time and that head space of your book without sitting down being immobile to do it ! I can escape “reading” while doing chores in a mindless thought pattern and just enjoy the day

I would love a sequel

I normally like a female narrator, but Nick did a wonderful job. This would make a great series. I love the story love the characters, but just want to hear more about the wedding and the wedding to be.
