    "Intrigue and Murder and Dumping."

Sean Barrett ‘s accent is perfect for the part of the (?) British Spook retired to a life on the coast of Ulster enjoying a spot of fishing and big fry-up breakfasts but now is drawn into a sinister plot.
It is Jimmy Kerr, his elderly neighbor, who asks Jack to attend the inquest held in Belfast, of his brother lost fifty years before somewhere over the Beaufort Dyke, the deep stretch of sea between Ireland and Scotland where the army and God-knows-who-else have been dumping their unwanted munitions since 1945. And it is the strange behavior of a Government QC trying to suppress the inquest with D Notices( you can listen to find out what these are) that sends Jack up and down the coast hunting for killers, victims, illegal immigrants, femmes fatales (very fatal femmes, in fact), and good and bad cops. All of them, immigrants apart, have access to massive armament. .
This is a very exciting thriller. There’s plenty of heart pounding moments. The setting is great in cold wet Ulster County.. Several coastal villages around about there play an important part as Jack Valentine, Mater spy (retired) famed by John Creed’s other spy novels, motors his fishing boat up and down the coast looking for or trying to escape the bad guys.. Murder assassinations and plenty of heart palpitating frissons in "Black Cat Black Dog (Unabridged)".I really liked this novel. This is a British Spy Novel.. ya gotta love the accents. jk/ljhurst

    "A wonderful book, wonderfully read"

I took a chance in buying this book. I didn't know anything about the author and it hadn't been reviewed yet. I liked the sample clip. The book became one of my favorite. It's a fast paced story with enough depth and character development to keep it interesting for me. I know people who could have been the characters in the story and the technical facts all seemed accurate--both of which made the story believable for me. My partner loved it too!
