Initially, I thought this book was not going to hold my interest especially since it covered sports. Boy was I wrong. This book was good. It kept me in suspense wondering just who is the killer! After many turns and twists, I'm finally learn the killer (which is a total surprise) and I am still held in suspense when the killer is apprehended and the brought to justice. How it's done and by whom is just great. The plot weaves in many characters, who all have a story to tell, and all of whom play an intricate part to play. I loved it--so much so that I listened to it again.
Don't waste a credit on this book! The 'dramatized' reading is horrible. It sounds like a really bad radio drama from several years ago. It might have worked a little better for me with one talented reader as opposed to several untalented ones. It's a tired old story line with a really stupid twist at the end!
Queen of UTEE
Multiple readers didn't bother me, although I prefer just one.
I'm not a huge James Patterson fan but this book was a good time passer on a 6 hour ride and the initial shock ending did leave my mouth hanging open for about 2 minutes.
Not a great book but an okay read.
I agree with other reviewers that multiple readers didn't help this book. It was a little hard to follow. It was short so kept my interest and I liked the twist at the end.
Another "cookie cutter" book. When I first started listening to this book and realized that it was not just read to me but has been "dramatized" by different readers, I was put off. Actually it kind of worked for this book, however the content is very poorly written and so predictable that at best it was barely a mere 2 stars rating from me. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I somehow managed to finish listening.....
I probably would not waste a book credit on this one......ho hum...
I really enjoyed this book. It kept me wanting to stay in the car. The first twist was surprising and interesting but the last one at the end simply was not understood. The multi-character narrative was a bit too much. I just didn't see the point of some of the characters and their narrations such as the brooklyn cop, Connie. Maybe I'm just missing something.
When I first started reading this book, I realized right away it would be unlike any other I'd read. I've been a long-time fan of James Pattersons books and have become acustomed to a particular standard for the quality of work he puts out. Well this latest masterpiece is truly one to exceed all expectations! Without a doubt, James Patterson has managed to release achillingly superb thriller that has more twists and turns in it than any rollercoaster cold ever hope to have! You'll never see the ending coming; there's no way on earth unless you've already been informed by someone else! The characters are stunning and perform nothing short of an all-out miracle, each and every one of them!!!
