    Story
    "Not Bad"
Would you try another book from Dirk Maggs and/or the narrators?

    Perhaps, depending on the story.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I can't think of any way. This is a beautiful piece of work, I just... didn't love it.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not that I know of, though I thought they all did a wonderful job. This is especially true of the gentleman who voiced the Joker. Those are massive clown-shoes to fill, and he did so wonderfully.

Could you see Batman: Knightfall being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Not really.

"The Dark Knight meets his match"

If you read DC comics you'll know how long some storylines can be. This one actually took place in 3 stages, spanning a lot of comics, and would take ages to get through in any form, so obviously here it's abridged. Elements from it were also adapted into the Dark Knight Rises, but the story was very different. Here it stays closer to the comics as Robin and the brainwashed assassin turned Batman replacement Azrael play almost as big a part as Batman and Bane, and many other characters appear, with part one featuring a mass breakout from Arkham Asylum and a lot of chaos.

The story has been turned into a radio play very well, with great voice acting and sound production and Azrael sounds very intimidating!

I've listened to this a few times now, and it's still great, I even got my Batman fan friend the CD version. It's different enough from the Knightfall of the comics and the Dark Knight Rises to be worth getting even if you're familiar with both, and as a stand alone Batman programme it's one of the best, for a fan it's a must have, but even if you're just casually looking for action, it's a lot of fun with a gripping and epic story.

    "Audio classic"

Knightfall is one of the classic Batman stories and this BBC Radio production is a very good adaptation, well acted, and generally very good.

And the blooper reel at the end is hilarious.

    "Batmantastic"

Having initially downloaded the mono version of this audiobook, I was disappointed with the lack of effects detailed within the story synopsis, however taking the opportunity to download the audio enhanced version, the quality of sound effects and stereophonic reproduction, really added to the fantastic story and characterisation. I am new to the world of audiobooks and Batman: Knightfall is an excellent example of the medium. The story benefits from a number of interesting and engaging characters, who all add to the drama of the story. The sound effects only enhance the audible experience and never compromise character input. All in all this is an excellent story complimented with a superb soundtrack, which remains fresh and entertaining even after numerous listenings.
