Publisher's summary

Frederick Forsyth is back with a Avenger! A heart-stopping thriller of murder, intrigue, deception, and revenge

Attorney Calvin Dexter hangs his shingle in a quiet New Jersey town, has a reasonably successful practice, and takes the hills strong while triathlon training. But Dexter is no ordinary lawyer. On Sundays, he reads the paper and shuffles around his dark, empty house, trying to forget about a life he has lost forever.

Until, of course, Dexter reads something in the papers that sends him the necessary signal. Until one of the handful who know of Dexter's other life tries to contact him. For in a world that has forgotten right and wrong, few can settle a score like Cal Dexter can.

But the game is changing, and this time CIA agent Kevin McBride must find a way to stop Dexter before his quest for vengeance throws the world into chaos.

Forsyth at his best

If you like a good thriller with true to life characters from the 7 pm evening news, don't miss reading or listening to Avenger. This is true Forsyth at his best. Once you start listening, it is oh so hard to stop.

This one is an allnighter.

Darn, don't you just hate it when you use your last credit on a book and then you have to stay up all night to listen to it? This is one of those, a can't stop read (listen). Hoping for amnesia so I can do it again.

Way too much detail.

This book is typical for an author who has made a name for him (or her) self with a few or more good books. They start pumping out books that resemble a scrambled phone book, lots of words and distractions. so much that the story tends to get lost.

Obviously I didn't like it, and, you should hear my wife....

Fast paced and exciting right to the end!

A terrific story with incredible history and Eric Conger’s narration was perfect as usual. The details were interesting and must have required much research.

Fun way to pass a long drive

Great character development Nice blend of page turner and head scratcher. We liked how author interwove the stories of the main characters and how they came together at the climax
