Yet, not even Miss Marple can foresee the violent chain of events set in motion when an eccentric guest makes his way to the airport on the wrong day.

"A joy...from beginning to end." (The New York Times)
Avid mystery reader, huge Agatha Christie fan.
As with every Agatha Christie, this one features a couple of breakneck twists that keep you guessing to the very end. My only complaint would be there was something of a lack of closure as the "bad guy" wasn't "caught" in the usual way. For all that though, still a good listen.
This was my first time listening to this narrator, and I am more used to Joan Hickson's somewhat more "age-appropriate" voice for Miss Marple. Notwithstanding, Ms. Cole did a good job with the range of voices, and made for an enjoyable listen.
Stephanie Cole is a good substitute for Joan Hickson. The story is well read. It's a comfortable, easy listen.
Having watched the film of this audio book - first class. Will download more. Love Agatha Christy books. Audible well done
"At Bertrams Hotel "
Adventurous estranged mum, accidentally goes to the same hotel, what will happen if they meet up!!!!! There's intrigue, murder, love affairs, what more could you ask for from Agatha Christie
I listened to the a chapter at a time over a number of weeks and found it really enjoyable. Apart from one character accent (sounding like an extra from a vampire movie to be honest) the reading / performance was spot on and highly entertaining. Well worth a listen.
"My favourite Christie story"
Absolutely. It is Christie at her best. The narration is perfect.
Farther, the detective. Brilliant.
For the fans of the classic crime novel, look no further that Miss Christie! Sad to say that this volume is not narrated by the best Marple (well in my humble opinion) Joan Hickson, But Stephanie Cole makes a marvellous substitute and her delivery so character perfect. So easy to imagine yourself sitting alongside Miss M taking in all the comings and goings at Bertrams! As always full of Christie twists and turns - a perfect Sunday or bedtime listen.
"Not a bad little read"
Once again Christie delivers exactly what is expected, an entertaining, weaving plot that twists to a conclusion with, with hindsight, appears so obvious. I enjoyed the pace and Stephanie Cole certainly gave Miss Marple a likable, believable character. The audio quality was crisp, clear and only a few points gave away a break in reading. Altogether a pleasant experience.
"Good but not a classic Miss Marple"
I enjoyed this story as I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie. I do not however, think that this is one of her best stories even though it contains the wonderful Miss Marple. It has some historical interest in regards to changes in society post World War Two but if you are new to listening to Agatha Christie on Audible don't start here.
"At Bertram's Hotel"
Definitely. It's a book which just keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I enjoyed the scene at the beginning where people were having tea in the drawing room.
It's just a book you can't put down - you have to listen to it all the way through.
This is different to a lot of Agatha Christie books, particularly given that the greater part of it is about robberies which the police are investigating which they trace to Bertram's Hotel although as yet they have no proof, and, though there is a murder, it doesn't happen until five hours or so through the book. It shows the efficiency of people at the hotel as they work under a mask which nobody would suspect and I like the part where Rose Sheldon brings Miss Marple her breakfast on her first morning. I heartily recommend the book.
more depth than the abridged version, my concern was that I would be disappointed with not having Joan narrate, but I am pleased to say Stephanie narrations were excellent
