Publisher's summary

When Joe Ledger and Echo Team rescue a group of American college kids held hostage in Iran, the Iranian government then asks them to help find six nuclear bombs planted in the Mideast oil fields. These stolen WMDs will lead Joe and Echo Team into hidden vaults of forbidden knowledge, mass-murder, betrayal, and a brotherhood of genetically-engineered killers with a thirst for blood.

Accompanied by the beautiful assassin called Violin, Joe follows a series of clues to find the Book of Shadows, which contains a horrifying truth that threatens to shatter his entire worldview. They say the truth will set you free… Not this time. The secrets of the Assassin’s Code will set the world ablaze.

Nice narration but the story, a little preachy.

A great performance with an intriquing plot. However, even in fiction form, the religious apologist theme wears a bit thin.

another great story

it's just gets deeper and deeper as I read on to next book. Joe ledger's series will get you hooked, its gory, funny, serious, and unexplainable at times. and still leave me hanging right to the end

Meh.....

It was Ok. Overall I like the series & I like the author. Unfortunately like most series, these are becoming formulaic. Think I am going to have to take a 6 month breather from the series and hopefully I will remember to get back to it.

Excellent One of my favorites.

Well written novel. Amazing turn of events. My hero is ghost and I hope he will stay in the story now with the improved k9s.

Joe Ledger is Back

What did you love best about Assassin's Code?

Where do I even start? First, I love that the hole book takes place in basically one day. Second, Joe Ledger fights vampires and hooks up with a bad ass female assassin. Third, Joe and Ghost take on very believable versions of VAMPIRES! Fourth, It takes place inside of Iran and I was super interested in the whole cultural shift of the book happening inside the middle east. Possibly the most nerve wrecking excitement John Maberry packed into a novel so far.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! YES! YES!

Read this book.

Look, it’s all a build up book to book. You will chock up and scream and maybe even shed some tears but it is absolutely worth the listen.

Be still my heart

Just when you think it can’t get anymore Scarier, Maberry manages to raise the bar! This Joe Ledger series is brutally scary, nail biting exciting with lots of Ledger humor. This book has Vampires that are pure evil mixed in with really bad people.
Book is a great listen and never a dull moment.
Awesome new characters along with the regular crew.
Don’t want to give any of the story away, but it’s a must listen. Ray Porter gives such life to the characters and managers to make each voice of each character recognizable. Maberry and Porter are a brilliant combination.
I can’t rave enough about this series. As soon as I submit this review, I’m starting the next!!

Joe Ledger never gets old. I hope that Maberry keeps him alive for a very very long time!!

Started slow, picked up, and never looked back

A very interesting story with so many explanations that make you actually believe it could be real. This isn’t a surprise in the least as this is always the case in this series. I’m drooling with anticipation and excitement for the next one in line.

I've listened to this series in order. first time I've ever done that. the narrater makes me forget it's a book. his ability to change characters, even female characters, and still have a deep voice. strange magic.
