Critic reviews

"[Suzy] Jackson narrates with verve and also conveys a folksy quality in Bibi's dialogue with friends, her parents, and her boyfriend, a Navy SEAL. With dramatic flair, Jackson collapses the distance between the protagonist and listeners. Her deliberate pacing and Koontz's inventiveness as a storyteller are a terrific pairing." (AudioFile)

I read almost everything by Dean Koontz. For me, this one was a struggle to get through. I felt like Mr Koontz was trying to do too much w one story. The storyline didn't flow very well. I think I would have enjoyed the book much more without BB going so far down the historical/supernatural path.

Uninteresting and tangential

I have read almost every one of Dean Koontz's books and although some of them are terrifying, the stories are always compelling. Anyone who has read this author knows that his books contain elements of the paranormal and strangeness. I enjoyed the pace of the book and never felt that it "dragged" as some people have stated. This story has such an unusual twist that it is really worth taking the time to read or listen to, and it is not at all a waste of money. This author is really talented.

This is a really different and unusual story

Really great book! Intensely detailed with uncanny twists and turns. Once you get near the end, you will want to start over as the pieces of the puzzle begin to click into place. Storytelling at its best!

WOW!

The narrator was too Gidget like and was distracting at times rather than enhancing the story. Well woven tale.

Too much "Valley Girl " speak for narration.

So one of the biggest plot twist is totally predictable as the author just lays it out. So when the character has the revelation it was no big deal because we already knew what it was spoiler that she was in a coma. Don't know why he didn't just string that along untill the character discovered the traumatic event that happened to her as a child.

pretty good but predictable.
