Publisher's summary

The picturesque Cotwsold village of Winter Parva has decided to warm the post-Christmas season by roasting a pig in the town square. Agatha, always one for a good roasting, organizes an outing to enjoy the merriment. But as the rotary spit is placed over a bed of fiery charcoals and the pig is carried toward its final resting place, Agatha realizes that things are not as they seem...

"Stop!" she screams suddenly. The "pig," in fact, is Gary Beech, a policeman not exactly beloved by the good people of the village. Although Agatha has every intention of leaving matters to the police, everything changes when Gary's ex-wife hires Agatha's detective agency to investigate - and then is murdered too. With that provocation, how could any sleuth as vain and competitive (and secretly insecure) as Agatha do anything other than solve the case herself?

Very entertainIng

I like all Agatha Raisin books. They are light and entertaining. I listened to all of her books in sequence and i noticed in this book that the author must’ve forgotten that she introduced Simon character as an orphan in the previous book and in this story Simon had well off parents. I think the author needs to keep track of her characters better, gets a bit confusing.

A Fun Story! Great Getaway!

Another fun Agatha Raisin adventure with a few extras. She gets herself into several new and different troubles along with both Roy and Tony having their own adventures this time, too, and James returns!

Mrs Raisin provides the usual brain break and getaway time. This one starting off in her getting a grossly unfair traffic ticket for taking her hands off the wheel while stopped in traffic to blow her nose, then very publicly announcing she would kill the Copper who gave it. When he's murdered in a macabre way within a short time of her threat, she is, of course, suspected along with almost everyone this guy unfairly ticketed. Along the way, it's found he has a lot more money than a simple policeman should have, Tony and Roy get into their own misadventures & it all provides a rolicking good adventure for the listener!

The narrator is not up to Davina Porter's quality and is sorely missed. It took away a bit from my pleasure, but still good enough. I guess Davina's reading has spoiled me to other narrators for these books...

Trust and loyalty

Another solid read in the Agatha series. This one centers around trust and loyalty when Simon returns from Afghanistan to get married but doesn't and Agatha refuses to re-hire him.. Plus Agatha and staff go on the hunt for the killer of an irritating and bent cop, a kidnapping in Las Vegas of all places and an attempted murder on poor Simon's life. Did I mention a handsome new comer/ gardener to the village who Aggie has set her sights on. Lots going on in this one, which makes it such a delightful read.

Funny and Entertaining!

As usual, Agatha Raisin delights! Very funny and entertaining! If you've ever wanted to live in an old English country town, Carsley is it!

Typical Agatha story

Where does As the Pig Turns rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

Another book in the Agatha Raisin series that is typical, but that is not a bad thing. I have enjoyed disliking Aggie for years!
