Publisher's summary

Among the towering red cliffs of Petra, like some monstrous swollen Buddha, sits the corpse of Mrs.Boynton. A tiny puncture mark on her wrist is the only sign of the fatal injection that killed her.

With only 24 hours available to solve the mystery, Hercule Poirot recalled a chance remark he'd overheard back in Jerusalem: "You see, don't you, that she's got to be killed?" Mrs. Boynton was, indeed, the most detestable woman he'd ever met....

Appointment with Death

I just love H. Poirot stories especially since he lays out all the possible explanations for what could have happened then steers the reader to the right conclusion.

Very Good

I especially love stories where Hercule enters later. It allows you more time with the characters. This is one of the truly happy endings, very satisfying.

Brava, Ms. Christie

One of Poirot's best! Story, characters, setting - and, of course, the brilliant Hugh Fraser

This might be my favorite…

Loved this story by Agatha C. I’ve been working my way through her books. There isn’t one I haven’t liked but I might be her biggest fan. Hugh Fraser is wonderful, as always.

Outstanding job by Hugh yet again

This will be my third Agatha Christie book and all from the Hercule series, was quite the rollercoaster and I loved every minute of it.

Hugh has been a delight to listen to from all his other audio books he has done and here he still is reliable at capturing the spirit of each character like he always does, he is part of a small list of people that I always can rely on for high quality performances when I’m listening.

If anyone reads this give him a try, I think he’s worth your time.

Fantastic. Classic Christie.

This was a superb book - classic Christie to give you all the right clues and also tons of red herrings. And Hugh Fraser never disappoints as a reader.

Another great Hercule Poirot Story

I am enjoying listening to all the Poirot stories in order and feel Hugh Fraser is the best narrator.

A Genre Piece But Fantastic

I've been through the vast majority of Christie's novels and they can be classified into 2 categories: mainstream or genre. Mainstream pieces are very logically organized and accessible. Genre pieces are less accessible due to barely perceptible twists, more complex structure, or other factors that make the mystery so mysterious that you have to be invested in the genre of the story to really appreciate the work. I like both categories for varying reasons and this one is actually pretty special. It's basically an advertisement for touring the holy lands and the exposition is just beautiful. I looked up a couple of the sites featured in the story because they sounded so lovely. This is a great read.
