Publisher's summary

Sheriff Walt Longmire had already rounded up a sizable posse of devoted readers when the A&E television series Longmire sent the Wyoming lawman’s popularity skyrocketing. Now, in Any Other Name, Walt is sinking into high-plains winter discontent when his former boss, Lucian Conally, asks him to take on a mercy case in an adjacent county. Detective Gerald Holman is dead and Lucian wants to know what drove his old friend to take his own life. With the clock ticking on the birth of his first grandchild, Walt learns that the by-the-book detective might have suppressed evidence concerning three missing women. Digging deeper, Walt uncovers an incriminating secret so dark that it threatens to claim other lives even before the sheriff can serve justice - Wyoming style.

Love series

Love the series and this book was great but it works as a stand alone as well.

Craig Johnson and George Guidall are are perfect match. Well developed characters and story line. Storytelling at its very best.

Great but 1 jarring change from the printed book

Would you consider the audio edition of Any Other Name to be better than the print version?

I love George Guidall's voice and his performances of Craig Johnson's works, but after I listened, I decided to read the printed version. There are two very jarring changes between the spoken and printed books (in reference to an event in A Serpent's Tooth), which change the tone, and would mislead people who hadn't read the earlier book, and I had to wonder WHY. No spoilers, but it's in the middle of chapter 5.

Another Great Longmire Adventure

As always, Walt is hot on the case, running into danger, seeing visions, and almost getting himself killed. Fortunately, the intrepid sheriff of Absaroka County manages to escape death by the skin of his teeth, while managing to make it to Philadelphia for the birth of his granddaughter.

Craig Johnson delivers again

Not as amusing as some Longmire books, but still good. The reader is, as always, fantastic.
