Narration is outstanding

Would you consider the audio edition of Another Man's Moccasins to be better than the print version?

The audio version of this book and all of the Walt Longmire stories I have read is so very very good that I have decided to always listen to them rather than to read them in print. And forget about the TV series! It can't hold a candle to the Walt that Mr. Guidall brings to our mind with his narration. George Guidall IS Walt Longmire, and all of the characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Another Man's Moccasins?

Craig Johnson has so many strong scenes that it is hard to pick out particular ones. His turn of phrase to describe moments in Walt's life or scenery of Wyoming are so artful that you want to stop and write them down and savor them, adding them to your own life experiences.

good book, okay editing

Love these books, the characters, and the plot lines! catch your interest and keep you there chapter after chapter. only thing I noticed about this audiobook was the editing was slightly off - the new chapter would start without a second pause leaving the last, giving it a "cut off" sound, or being rushed. another editing thing I noticed was the flash backs weren't always easy to hear apart - the storyline was a little muddled when transitioning. in a book there's usually a new paragraph, to go from present time to the past - this audiobook had troulbte denoting that from an audio perspective and a few times I'd have to remind to catch back into which tense Walt's mind was.
overall great book, love the narrator's ability to make distinct dialects pop and even other languages!

Another good story

I am a big Longmire TV show fan, but, I enjoy the books so much more! Walt has a great sense of humor that you don't get on the show.

Another Wonderful Longmire!

Great story and fantastic narration. My only complaint is in the editing. The announcement of each new chapter was squeezed in so quickly at the end of the previous chapter and the effect was annoying and jarring. Other than that, an excellent offering!

I think this is the best Longmire story I've heard. I've listened to 4 or 5 now. Will get more.

Definitely one of my favorites!

This book eerily brought to mind a Netflix's episode and the TV series! Not that it's identical, not at all! But, one of the side characters (Vincent White Buffalo) reminded me of another character from the TV series! I don't know if it's the same character, but if it is, this book gives us his backstory, and OMG, what a history! This book plays with the sexual tension between Walt and Vic(toria) Moretti something that I hadn't really thought was too serious while watching the TV series! And, then to find that it was actually more than that... hummm... for me anyway, I found it a bit jarring and I might have been just a little creep'd out by it too! Don't get me wrong I loved the book and all aspects of Walt Longmire's life. But, just saying, the book took me outta my comfort zone. And I may have to rewatch some of the episodes!
George Guidall once again brought Absaroka County to life with his narration of Johnson's story!
You definitely don't want to miss this book. In spite of the disonense between the televised series and the actual books, so far, Another Man's Moccasins is definitely my favorite in the series!

Another in Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series

What made the experience of listening to Another Man's Moccasins the most enjoyable?

What drew me to begin listing to Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series was the narrator, George Guidall. I'd probably pay to listen to Guidall read his grocery list, not to imply that Craig Johnson's books are like

Would you be willing to try another book from Craig Johnson? Why or why not?

I've read all the books in he series except

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I am a dyed in the wool Guidall fan and have listened to him for years. In my opinion he is the very best narrator one can find amongst all the recoded books narrators. I've recommended him to many others over the years, some who had never listened to a recorded book and all were

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I don't read/listen to any books in that manner. I put aside 1 hour each day for audio books. The ones I've listened to over the years (I've been a recorded book listener for over 20 years) are so good I don't want them to end so I try to stretch them out.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to George Guidall read all of the Alan Furst novels that he narrated (nine) and in my opinion George Guidall's narration takes the novels from a 3 star rating to a 5+ rating. In this case (Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire) the novel itself (plot) is at best a 3 star, but Guidall turns it into a 4.
