To the Listeners

When making a public review of an author’s work, I believe it is our responsibility to be thoughtful and considerate in any negative feedback we may give. Criticism given in a mean or condescending way is never constructive criticism.

That said, I am surprised when much of the negative criticism given is done so poorly. It seems pretty ironic when the person critiquing the book does not proof-read or spell-check their feedback before submission. It’s hard to respect or take seriously negative criticism from someone who writes with disdain, writes poorly, and/or does not proof-read their own writing.

Cant wait till november!

I know this might be bad to say but I think I might actually like Harper better than Sookie. I really hope that this series catches on as well as the Southern Vampires.

Great until the step brother sex details

The story line was good. Really sad and also messed up. The thing I couldn’t get through is the step brother sex scene details. Gross!!!

Good book

I really liked this series overall. I love charlaine Harris, she's one of my favorite authors. It was entertaining and well written, as all her books are.

BUT...

SPOILER ALERT (seriously stop reading now if you don't want to know)

...I'm serious, stop.

It was cool until she started boning her STEP BROTHER. Do you have a step brother? Well, I do, and let me tell you, that shit is GROSS. Y'all are basically related. Couldn't she just have written him as her childhood friend or something? Ain't nothing romantic about getting down with your brother, Idgaf what kind of magical powers you have

A Bit Fluffy

I really had no expectations before hearing this because even though I'm familar with True Blood on HBO I've never read or heard other books by this author. I wasn't too excited by the narration, but I also thought the writing had a bit too much fluff in the story for this kind of setting. But then that seems to be a difference between most female writers and male writers on suspense....Many female writers seem to add the fluff where many male writers concentrate mor on the suspense. Now mind you I did say "Many" and not "All" writers of each gender, but in this case there's more fluff that slows down the story and suspense.

This was ok, but....

The romance totally weirded me out. Not sure why the author went the route she did. The prior books hinted that a major character romance might be coming, but didn't pan out like I thought.

The story itself was pretty ok.

Chilling tale

Charlaine Harris could not have picked a better narrator. I hope she writes another book on this series.
