Excellent performance but...

had I wanted so much emphasis on sex, I would have picked a totally different title on which to spend my money. Not sure what lead the author to think I had such an interest in the curve of his penis. She also gave a little too much away on the killer. Guess I'll save my money for a different author instead of buying the last book in the series.

I'm hooked on Harper Connelly

This was my first listen to this author and this series, bad habit of not going in order. None the less I am hooked. It was a little slow at first not understanding the dynamic between Harper and Tolliver, but once that came out and resolved itself the story really picked up. I am now hooked and will start from the beginning.

A classic Charlaine Harris who-done-it

Bright and dreary in all the ways one loves Charlaine Harris' particular voice and flare for dramatics. The protagonist inner dialogue and cataloguing of useful observations and amusing inconsequential information make for lively story with engaging and colorful characters. Plus the interesting sexuality themes that are explored in a way that is both tasteful, terrifying, and sometime awkward and uncomfortable. In the end, humans will be human and Harris gives a gripping account of damaged people making the best and worst of what is given them.

a bit too many gruesome details but a good story.

This is less of a cozy mystery than the previous ones in the series. Having no psychopatic tendencies myself i wish there were fewer gruesome details provided, it could have been worse given the story but I can get the idea without the details and i would have preferred not to hear them. otherwise this was a good story.

Interesting Twist. Well written.

As the last book in this series (so far), I enjoyed the entire series. I really enjoyed this one more than the others and it could have been because I felt I "knew" the characters better. I still felt the narrator was less than enthusiastic but it didn't detract from the story. All in all, I would recommend this series and book to everyone.

Ok

Not bad. Just kinda drags in parts. Too much self pity. Sex thrown in and doesn’t add to the story.

I like the series but why the relationship change?

I didn't care for the extra storyline with 2 characters taking a hard left in there relationship. I just didn't see any reason for it.

Harper Connolly is a great series

This is the third book of the series and possibly the best. Harper finds bodies and in this book she finds several. The characters are well developed and the suspense is tremendous. It's not for kids or teens. I'm not a murder mystery person, but this series works for everyone.
