Advances the Overall Story, lacks a concise plot

Where is Rhodes, Illinois? The author does so well writing such immersive descriptive locations for real cities, that the imaginary small city of Rhodes cane off as generic and flat. That one complaint aside I liked this entry in the series. It digs Sookie further deeper into a hole that she did not create nor can she get out of. Appearances by characters from past books give fuel to the feeling that this is a real universe with people who grow and mature even when not near the protagonist.
As always, the voice narration is great and I do not take it for granted.

Always such abrupt endings

I get the sense that Ms Harris is not much for tidy endings. Her books seem to just kind of ….stop. She’ll set up a nice scene and then fade to black and that’s it. That’s all you get.

Sookie Stackhouse

They are making a pilot out of this series called True Blood on HBO. It is a light and funny series with a lot of adventure that I started listening to in the middle with Dead as a Doornail with Audible. I did go out and get the earlier books to read to bring myself up to date. I would love to have the entire series available on Audible. Even though each book stands on its own it is better starting at the beginning, you get more of a feel on the history of the characters. If you are looking for something entertaining you will enjoy this series.

I Love Sookie Stackhouse!!!

I waited to write a review until I listened to all 12 books. I loved them all. Sookie is a breath of fresh air small town girl who has had problems in the past with romance because she has the gift of reading minds. Imagine going on a date and hearing everything the guy was thinking... Not good. With vampires out of the closet, she finds she can't read vampire minds. Finally she can have true romance. There is also Mystery, Murder, and Mayhem and more supernatural creatures to be revealed!
I loved all the characters and how the story unfolded through all the books. It was bitter sweet that it had to come to an end. I was going to watch True Blood on HBO until friends told me it wasn't nearly as good as the books and had way too much porn!! I will leave the same review for all twelve books. Sookie just wouldn't be Sookie without Johanna Parker, I loved her voice!

I loved this book, till the ending

Would you listen to All Together Dead again? Why?

Yes, because it is easy to miss parts of the story

Have you listened to any of Johanna Parker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love Johanna Parker's reading. She does it all so well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

This book had lots of stories to it, many different sub-plots. I really enjoyed the book till I got to the last few chapters, and then I was disappointed by those last few chapters but I am not sure why.

I love Quinn!

The books, are so much better than the TV show. Sookie is so great. I wish, I was more like her. Don't think past your fingertips. Quinn is so interesting and far better than any vamp.
