    "A great series!"

I’ve loved the entire series of books featuring Sookie Stackhouse. This is the first audio version that I’ve listened to and it was delightful. The narrator is exactly as I'd imagined Sookie's voice would be. The books feature fascinating, humorous characters that continually evolve and surprise as they travel through fast-paced plots.

I like Jack Reacher style characters regardless of setting. Put them in outer space, in modern America, in a military setting, on an alien planet... no worries. Book has non moralistic vigilante-justice? Sign me up! (oh, I read urban fantasy, soft and hard sci-fi, trashy vampire and zombie novels too)

    "Favorite so far!"

I think this was my favorite book of the series - and I really liked most of the books in this series! The plot was very engaging, and suspenseful, and there was a lot of plotting and conniving to be figured out. There wasn't so much of the sex as in some of the other books, but it didn't take away from the story at all.

The story seemed much more mature than some of the earlier ones - there was actually a story involved, not just Sookie finding and/or losing her latest lover. Sookie is much more mature now, and the story had her having some growth too, so she's not as naive as she has been in other books. Quite nice, actually, to see a character still have some room to grow after 7 books.

    The narration is spot-on.

    "Good story read flatly"

I began reading the Sookie Stackhouse series before I discovered audible, so I was hooked before ever hearing narrator's monotone drawl. The narration is distractingly irritating to me, in part, because it conveys a main character who is more resigned and less humorous than the one that I read in the books. That being said, the stories are still amusing.

    "Predictable"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It seems like at this point in time the author is just trying to fulfill a book deal. It's becoming predictable and boring. Sookie is a character that has lacked any real development and it seems that after this many years of being around supernaturals she would be able to. She knows how to deal with their temperaments better, but as far as her personal/romantic life goes, she's still just as clueless as she was in the beginning.

    "I Love Sookie Stackhouse!!!"

I waited to write a review until I listened to all 12 books. I loved them all. Sookie is a breath of fresh air small town girl who has had problems in the past with romance because she has the gift of reading minds. Imagine going on a date and hearing everything the guy was thinking... Not good. With vampires out of the closet, she finds she can't read vampire minds. Finally she can have true romance. There is also Mystery, Murder, and Mayhem and more supernatural creatures to be revealed!
I loved all the characters and how the story unfolded through all the books. It was bitter sweet that it had to come to an end. I was going to watch True Blood on HBO until friends told me it wasn't nearly as good as the books and had way too much porn!! I will leave the same review for all twelve books. Sookie just wouldn't be Sookie without Johanna Parker, I loved her voice!

"Perfect Voice For a Favorite Series."
Would you consider the audio edition of All Together Dead to be better than the print version?

Neither is better than the other. I will say that Johanna Parker is my perfect version for Sookie. She just makes Sookie come alive all the better and with the correct accent clarified a few things that my 'Yankee' imagination couldn't.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sookie is fabulous but I like my heroines with a little more barbarian and a little less lady. Of course maybe that's just how southern woman are. I also love Pam. If I could somehow combine both of them it would be perfect. I would like to see more of Diantha.

What does Johanna Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The southern accent and correct southern pronunciation of words. I'f from as far north as you can get and still be in the USA. Sometimes it is hard for me to 'hear' the words correctly when I read.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Spoilers Sweetie.

    "Weird or planned"

The cast grows larger as characters representing vampire royalty from all over the U.S. comes to a summit at the Pyramid of Gizeh, a vampire hotel.

There are secret alliances and back room deals, spies, betrayal, a far right fanatical group (The Fellowship of the Sun, who we met in and earlier book) and much more. Sookie reunites with Barry the Bellboy, a fellow telepath, who I like and hope we see more of. Quinn, her latest love interest is also on the scene. I can’t warm up to Quinn and I hate the fact that he calls Sookie “babe” all the time.

Overall I liked the book but had to knock it down to a three because it leaves too many unanswered questions. Usually these books leave some cliffhangers but this one leaves too many.

ASIDE: Pyramid of Gizeh reminds me of the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Denver, CO. They are both shaped like a pyramid/mountain. The family that owns the Marriott chain is Mormon and they supply the Book of Mormon and a Gideon Bible in every room. In this Sookie book there are Vampires and The Fellowship of the Sun – weird or planned?

    "Disaster in Rhodes"
Would you consider the audio edition of All Together Dead to be better than the print version?

Yes, I don't have this series in book form. I find the sound of the story very enjoyable to listen to. Since this storyline is so full of action and adventure the voice adds to the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Quinn is my favorite character since he tries to be honest with Sookie, even though she has no tolerance for his life. She is a little hypocrite.

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

As always an excellent job, she makes the story wonderful to listen to.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Disaster in Rhodes

    Any additional comments?

I find the more I listen to this series the more I realize how much happens in each story.

    "Vampire Summit? I'm in!"
If you could sum up All Together Dead in three words, what would they be?

    Vampire Summit shenanigans.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked this book the best of the whole series, potentially. The Vampire Summit was an interesting premise and Queen Sophie Anne was around often.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene when Sookie is holding the soda can in the hallway is my favourite scene.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene when Sookie is rushing to save Eric and Pam from the pyramid was very touching because Sookie was heroic and emotional all at the same time. I feared for Eric and Pam. It was a tense scene.

    Any additional comments?

The Vampire Summit was fantastic and any appearance of Queen Sophie Anne is completely welcomed by me.
