“An intense and intriguing character, Logan is definitely an action hero to watch.” (Booklist)

I liked the story and the characters but the editing made it hard to fully enjoy. I prefer audiobooks in which the chapters have a long pause at the end, as this book has. But, this was the first book I have ever listened to that made it very clear where the reader stopped for a break or the day and resumed and where re-takes were made and edited in. Both the volume and tone of the reader would change abruptly and annoyingly for either, OFTEN.
I wanted to strangle Jennifer. Some of her reactions, given the situation and line of work, is completely off the mark. She trains for a year as an operative, and gets upset when too much violence is used on a terrorist? Seriously . . . While there are rules and ways to do things, she is just too emotional.
Ted Bell and Alex Hawk
No - The original duo was much better.
Book held me right up to the end, felt cheated by the ambiguous ending. What, it was OK for ass kicking all the way through but we can't find out if Chase gets trucked at the end of the story. Also liked the narrators from the first book better.
The characters had more depth in this one, and more consistency. The story line was believable and fast paced. Huge improvement from the first novel.
Pretty good story. You can hear the breaks in recorded sessions and where the narrator pieced some of the audio together.
Just starting on the series, it gets a bit slow in this book, but does finish pretty well.
Although I believe I enjoyed the previous narrators, these do grow on you you after a while.
Very good storyline, love how Jennifer comes to terms with her inner emotions about becomin one of the people who gets off the sideline.
Any other Brad Taylor books featuring Pike Logan
I'm still getting used to the two readers format. Having listened to many books done by a single reader it does take a little getting used to and there is a good and a bad to it. I think they did a great job.
Pike is back in action and using all the force necessary to get the job done. In short he's kicking ass and filling body bags. I like the fast paced action. What I don't like is all the talk about task force approval for this and omega authority for that. I get it that politicians wring their hands while terrorists take real actions, but the oversight council is even getting on my nerves.
I don't have a lot of love for Jennifer either. She is sort of Pike's sidekick and while she makes the story interesting, I really don't see anyone with her unease for killing being on the front lines of a terrorism task force.
The story is great and fast paced. I can't wait to read the next book.
It began to get old when the hero always had to be right. He suggested that people who stuck to their beliefs, like he did, had to be wrong for doing so.
