Eh

I read a LOT of these books. Jennifer gets on my damn nerves. The editing is the worst. At least make an attempt to keep the tone of voice consistent between breaks.

Improving...

The first book's narration issue that made for a difficult listen is much improved in this installment. That doesn't necessarily mean the book is better. There are still some issues. One is POV. It switches from third to first in a most illogical way, and the dialogue is abysmally bad at certain points. Also, there is another issue of swearing as filler. It's like a bad movie so often. When there's not anything the author feels work saying, he inserts the F-word. Not good form. It just feels unnecessary. But as the series is on book 14, I'm going to assume it continues to improve. So that's a good thing. The narrators worked here.

Brad Taylor is the next Vince Flynn.

I picked up this book based on the reviews, and was not dissapointed. I am so glad this Brad can write, because i read one of Brad Thors books, amd it was pure crap. Pike is the real thing.

Real world, real problems

The story itself could be something none of us are ready for. It was almost way too real. Makes you wonder why America hasn’t been attacked like that already. The narrators are not ideal. Scott Brick or Dick Hill would be much better. Otherwise it is passable.

Story was too broken at times

Fast moving and task force always had too much to objectively take charge and found a way to overcome and win over evil.

Remarkable sophomore turnaround!

I found the first book in this series amateurish compared to similar series like Mitch Rapp and Scott Harvath. This one I thoroughly enjoyed. much stronger dialog, action and pacing. Now I'm looking forward to continuing to get to know Pike Logan and his partner Jennifer Cahill.
