Publisher's summary

Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom.

There are only the Authorities.

Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life.

Those who cannot do either are of no use to society.

This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known. She dutifully walks her energy board daily and accepts all male pairings assigned to her by the Authorities. Like most citizens, she keeps her head down and her eyes closed.

Until the day they came for her mother.

Woken up to the harsh reality of her life and her family's future inside the Republic, Emmeline begins to search for the truth. Why are all citizens confined to ubiquitous concrete living spaces? Why are Compounds guarded by Gatekeepers who track all movements? Why are food, water and energy rationed so strictly? And, most important, why are babies taken from their mothers at birth?

As Emmeline begins to understand the true objectives of Agenda 21, she realizes that she is up against far more than she ever thought. With the Authorities closing in, and nowhere to run, Emmeline embarks on an audacious plan to save her family and expose the Republic - but is she already too late?

A Riveting Story!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you like scary stories of hellish futures that are all too plausible, I highly recommend Agenda 21. When moral values decline both individually and collectively, levels of suggestibility increase to unbelievably high levels, resulting in dictatorship of one form or another. The world of Agenda 21 is a vision of earthly Hell that is a mix between a totalitarian state blended with environmental extremism and animal rights gone mad. If you don't think something like this is plausible, simply take a look at real world accounts of life under totalitarian dictatorships of various kinds and then substitute the Agenda 21 details.

What about January LaVoy’s performance did you like?

January LaVoy does an excellent job of bringing the book to life.

Any additional comments?

Agenda 21 should cause us to redouble our efforts aimed towards moral revival as individuals and as a society. There is NO political solution to the human condition. Only genuine morals demonstrate any hope of change. Otherwise we are headed for a 21st Century dark age, enforced by technology. Without genuine moral values human beings are simply programmable, reproducible, vicious animals that give the word "animal" a bad name.

First thriller in 7 years

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Already have.

What other book might you compare Agenda 21 to and why?

Ummm not sure do not usually read thrillers.

What about January LaVoy’s performance did you like?

I was satisfied my wife didn't like the main characters voice.

Any additional comments?

I couldn't stop listening, I finished it in two days while I drove my work truck. It usually takes me 2 or 3 weeks to finish a audio book. Great story extremely fascinating I am glad I made the decision to get the book, like I said I do not usually buy thrillers but I bit the bullet and am glad I did! First Glen Beck book I have purchased.

Very Interesting

If you could sum up Agenda 21 in three words, what would they be?

simply "scary"

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

no, kind of knew where it was going due to all the other books and movies

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would like to, but just not enough free time

Good Book Concept

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The book was well performed and interesting. the only thing I didn't like was the dialog and the depth of character. It seemed shallow and repetitive. There was little to no action and or excitement. I understand that it is based on a real United Nations article that can change life in the world as we know it but it still lacked depth.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I wanted more resolution and completion.

What about January LaVoy’s performance did you like?

She did a great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The prologue was what really made me think about the impact of Agenda 21

Thought provoking but ending left me wanting more.

Would you try another book from Glenn Beck and/or January LaVoy?

yes

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

How easily this situation could happen in our future. Least interesting - how dismal life would be if government took away all out choices and independence.

Did Agenda 21 inspire you to do anything?

This book inspired me to be more diligent in knowing my Constitutional rights and what I can do to inform others so we don't become sheeple! It is so important that the next generation know the facts about our actual history (not revisionist history) so the same mistakes are not made.

Any additional comments?

I didn't like the ending of the story--left too much unknown. If a sequel book is written, I will buy it to find out what happens next.

Pretty Darn Cool!

What did you like best about this story?

Interesting prophetic political fiction. Glenn beck is a bit "out-there" for me. However, this was a neatly written thought provoking work. Really fun and worth a credit. It would really suck if Beck turns out to be right and all or some of the things in this novel come true. We really don't want to piss our own freedom down the drain.

The last chapter makes it credit worthy

What did you love best about Agenda 21?

This book takes what at first peak seems like an adult verson of "The hunger games" then they add sex as one of the objects of fear and boom the adults are the perfect audience. The author's writing is somewhat charming in a clumsy way. The epilouge is chilling and it proves the non-fiction writing skills this author has been given. The epilouge made this a five-star experience. The eight hour used on this book seems like a highly well-crafted plan to turn this into a one-sitting listen. Perfect for a long car trip etc. I think it serves you best as a listen in one sitting alongside family and friends ready to discuss it in great detail.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Agenda 21?

The way they brainwash it's children and the chilling epilouge.

Which character – as performed by January LaVoy – was your favorite?

Lissie: She was a product of brain-washing from the day she was born.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"The secret agenda of the UN."

Do a search for Agenda 21.

Where are we going?

I loved and hated this story.
Loved it because someone is actually paying attention to what is going on in this world.
Scary because it can really happen!!!!

Modern Day 1984 Where Government Takes Over All

What did you love best about Agenda 21?

The perspective of a child who had a taste of freedom and couldn't understand why people could accept an oppressive system where no one was allowed to be a unique individual.

What did you like best about this story?

The escape from tyranny to freedom.

Which scene was your favorite?

Burning down the establishment as a diversion to escape to freedom.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Where the little boy saw his first glimpse of freedom by the breaking of a rule.

Any additional comments?

The power our government officials have now never seems to be enough as they want to control every aspect of our lives. Every American should read this book as it emphasizes how it will look like in the future if we continue to let our freedom to be taken away without objection.

A preview of what could be coming!

The story is compelling and the character development is very real. This could be a preview into world we are headed into if our society does not wake up. The meaning of "recycled" is changing. Be afraid, very afraid.
