Publisher's summary

Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom.

There are only the Authorities.

Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life.

Those who cannot do either are of no use to society.

This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known. She dutifully walks her energy board daily and accepts all male pairings assigned to her by the Authorities. Like most citizens, she keeps her head down and her eyes closed.

Until the day they came for her mother.

Woken up to the harsh reality of her life and her family's future inside the Republic, Emmeline begins to search for the truth. Why are all citizens confined to ubiquitous concrete living spaces? Why are Compounds guarded by Gatekeepers who track all movements? Why are food, water and energy rationed so strictly? And, most important, why are babies taken from their mothers at birth?

As Emmeline begins to understand the true objectives of Agenda 21, she realizes that she is up against far more than she ever thought. With the Authorities closing in, and nowhere to run, Emmeline embarks on an audacious plan to save her family and expose the Republic - but is she already too late?

Important read

America is fascinated with dystopian stories for a reason. This is a strong story of how these big movements may impact our very own lives

Is there really an Agenda 21

The story was engaging and I didn't want to put it down. It's a good story about what could happen in a Socialist type society when pushed to the extremes. What is interesting to listen to is the commentary at the end where the author discusses Agenda 21 and the ramifications he envisions if any or all parts are put into play. Some I agree with, some I disagree with. I have to admit my ignorance of such a summit and such a document. I just googled "Agenda 21" and downloaded the document. In these days where the World's current structure is collapsing all around us, it could be a good document to read and understand.

realistic & based on Liberal mindset of the future

If you could sum up Agenda 21 in three words, what would they be?

How would you survive the Ideal Liberal prison camps for producing soldiers for your army while living a minimal existence on food cubes and forced propaganda. Give birth to a child and never get to EVER see or hold that child because the government keeps them in child rearing facilities because some empty headed theorist thinks their way is more efficient in producing children that will be their ideal soldier, subject.

In other words - submissive and not willing to question authority in ANY manner.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Agenda 21?

When the main characters were making their final attempt to escape, he held back and she was afraid he was having second thoughts.

It was only that the was watching a fire he had started to divert the community to make sure it would not affect the children's hospital, school, dormitory.

After he clearly saw that the facility was safe did he crawl under the fence and join the 3 others (his wife, their child and one other child) and made good their escape.

What does January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I could never accept being a prisoner and would have recognized many ways of escaping and would do so or die trying.

Any additional comments?

This is the future that many in the European Union, Russia and even here in the US think would be best for the human race.

Feed the squirrels and birds but give humans minimal rations (vegan of course) until they died from lack of will or just outright starvation, bit by bit, by bit.

Agenda 21 is the death of Freedom

Your heart will sink as you visualize the life of slavery that lies in socialism , and just how far along they have already sunk their fangs into brainwashing our society into falling for it! Read this book. Pass it along. Wake up as many as you can before war is the only option for freedom.

Scary, frightening, emotionally unsettling!

What made the experience of listening to Agenda 21 the most enjoyable?

Enjoyable? No. It is too close to reality for that, but, effectual is more like it. It was more unnerving than thrillers on TV!

What did you like best about this story?

The foresight of the mother and the daughters courage to defy a corrupt system of government.

What about January LaVoy’s performance did you like?

She brought the characters to life. You have to hate the care provider of the babies because she is so insensitive to the needs of others. LaVoy even made the men come alive and that seemed remarkable for a women.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The young mother holding her baby after the State took her away. The little boy afraid to ask to go to the bathroom. The escape from the facility. Her love for her husband. Her leadership qualities.

Any additional comments?

The fact that the UN, our enemies around the world and the third world nations want to strip us of what we have worked for and enslave us for their ease is just about to much to bare as its potential is dramatized by this book. If you don't believe Obama and Hillary Clinton want to do this to us you need to pull your head out of the indoctrination Boob Tube and get your kids out of the public school system. My text book for a college course was all about promoting one world government and that was about ten years ago. If you think Glen Beck is overly dramatic it is because he is scared into it by what is going on here and abroad.

LaVoy Always Great, Beck Never Disappoints

I liked the plot, but seeing the development of a novel IRL is alarming, though, not altogether surprising. The research of it will be interesting, as prior to this, I was not aware of Agenda 21. Sustaining our planet is not all bad, but to the extent of taking land away from property owners is maddening. The socialistic ideals will ultimately kill America and society as a whole for everyone except those benefiting from capitalism in order to achieve full control as the characters in this book showed. It starts locally, so I now have a place to start. Thanks Mr. Beck for bringing this to our attention and to give us a nice piece of the puzzle to research. You’re work never disappoints. You are one of the greats of our generation for making difficult concepts easy to understand and apply to our lives. Thank you for never giving up on America, as a whole, but for rooting for the individual citizen everyday. :)
