Publisher's summary

We predict amazing success for this brand-new mystery series starring Psychic Abby Cooper.

Abby Cooper is a P.I., psychic intuitive. But her insight failed her when she didn't foresee the death of one of her clients - or that the lead investigator for the case is the gorgeous blind date she just met. Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever.

Started out strong but lost steam

At first I liked this book because the plot was well written and the narration was very good. About half way thru, however, I started to get bored because the main character, Abigail is so two dimensional. She's even temperd, always right and nobody every makes mistakes or misses clues, which is just so boring. Let's face it, flawed people are more interesting and mistakes can be good plot devics. There are at least two scenes per chapeter of her blurting out her phychic visions to friend and stranger alike. From heart conditions to sports scores. She's always right. There are only so many times a character can exclaim "Oh my gosh! That's exactly right. Your amazing!" without it getting old and repetative. Perhaps it's a rookie mistake by a first time writer and the next one gets better, but I'm not using another credit to find out.

Good story..

What made the experience of listening to Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye the most enjoyable?

I really like the character

What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Michaels’s performance?

I just don't feel like she sounds like Abby Cooper, no disrespect but I was under the impression that Abby Cooper is in her early 30's and Elizabeth Michaels doesn't sound like a woman in her early 30's from Michigan. She does mispronunce words and places like street names in most books in this series.

Any additional comments?

Love the story, but the narrator just isn't right for the character. I am sure she could do other characters in other books better, she just isn't Abby.

(I know intuitively) Who Dunnit 😊

Narrator-great! Main character good - her sister excellent - love interest ARROGANCE personified. Great read!

Great story, if you can get past the reader

This was a very compelling story with characters that you care about almost immediately. The on/off relationship with Dutch and Abby is something to look forward to in the books to follow. The only downside was the narrator. She is unable to do a range of voices, and reads with unusual inflections at odd times. I only wish there were a different reader for the following books, but alas, I must try to get past it so I can enjoy the series.

Very Light Mystery.

I would rate this book at a 3.5. There were parts I liked and parts that were eye rolling inducing. This story was slightly amusing which I liked, a very light read. The "liar, liar pants on fire," was a bit annoying, only because it was constantly said. Abby was bit of a bitch, but that is not necessarily a bad thing and of course she does some incredible stupid things. There is no sex in this story if that is what you are looking for, but I can't guarantee that for future books. I wouldn't spend a credit on any more from this series, but I would get the next book if there was a sale. Narrator is okay, not as bad as all the reviewers were complaining about, but she does make Abby sound like everything is a joke to her.

This was a fun little cozy murder mystery

Listened to on Audiobook
Narrator: Elizabeth Michaels
Bought on Audible

What I Loved: This was a fantastic murder mystery and the psychic elements made it really fun. Abby was an engaging lead character. She was at times very brave and at the same time sometimes very stupid. Dutch was a fantastic straight man to Abby and their exchanges were part of the fun of the book

What I Liked: The fact that I did not know who the murder was committed by. I guessed a couple of times and was completely wrong. I think that makes a good mystery.

Complaints: Liar, Liar Pants on Fire was a little over used.

Audio Specific Review: The narrator was ok but I think she made Abby sound older than she was. I also think she made her sound a bit annoying at times.

Why I gave it a 3: This was a fun little cozy murder mystery with a bit of a psychic connection. I am definitely going to read more in this series.

Who I would recommend it too: Anyone who likes fun mysteries and don't mind a little bit of a psychic thrown in.

Good Book

I enjoyed the book & story line a lot! I love the depth of the characters. The narrator, however didn't use clearly distinctive voices to differentiate the characters making it at times a little difficult to follow.

I never read the print version so I have no idea. I love the audio version.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I love her interaction with Dutch.

Any additional comments?

Enjoyable

Good listen. I used to listen to lots of mysteries, but some just got really sick and gave me nightmares. This is a good listen, and a good mystery. I have enjoyed it. I will purchase more.
