I have “read” all of the Sookie Stackhouse books available from Charlaine Harris. Though I'm occasionally disappointed with a choice the author makes for a character in the books, the series is extremely entertaining. I particularly enjoy that there is usually more than one thing going on in each story.
The narrator, Johanna Parker, is EXCELLENT; definitely one of my favorites. I have picked other books because she narrated them.
I enjoyed listening to these short stories to "fill the gaps" in the novels. Having finished all the available Sookie books it was nice to have this as an option, but I wish there were more!
Even if you haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse novels or you don't watch the True Blood series this is a delightful collection of stories worth listening too. Narrator is absolutely fantastic.
So far I've been through the first 6 books in 10 days! Absolutely love the series and the narration is very good.
I love Charlaine Harris and I love the narrator but this book was not so great. It fills in a few gaps, makes a ok read.
I liked the stories in the collection, but was disappointed that I had read most of them in other collections.
If you are a Sookie fan, this is a nice little romp to hold you over until the next book. This isn't a book you would just pick up to read if you have not read previous books. All in all, fun read/listen for what it is.
Great narration. I like to list this first as it can make or break a story.
Loved this story. Easy listerning and very entertaining. Will be impatiently waiting for any new books in audio from this author.
I really enjoy it when readers with similar reading interests list their favourite authors and series. It really helps me find new authors too follow. Mine are Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Estep, Faith Hunter, Molly Harper, Ilona Andrews, Kresley Cole, Deborah Harkness, Nalini Singh, Coreene Callahan and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
I was lead to believe this was a new book. Instead it was just a few short stories that just covered old material. Very disappointing!
