This is a fun little collection. I love the series, so these shorts were good. This is the perfect narrator for this series. Although I cringe at the Eric/Bill voices she does, she is exactly what I pictured Sookie's voice to be.
Although the stories were fun and interesting, I was left wanting a little more mention of Eric or Bill. How about a few side stories about them and Pam. Didn't give me the fix I needed to get me through until May.
Same author, short stories. They did add to the story line well, although with all the stories combined, you don't know where the short stories should be inserted in the series. It would have been nice if they had added a "Comes after book 2" in between stories, so you could possibly play the series in order with the short stories in the right places. You have to put a lot of thought and research into without that help. Can't wait for the next one.
How could you not love a series with characters named "Vampire Bill". Even some old college mates love this book. I would have thought them too "highbrow".
If you are not sure if you are going to like this series, start with this book for a taste.
BTW- narration is outstanding.
The description says every Sookie story written is here, but I can think of at least one involving Pam and a cruise ship) that is not here. Still, these are fun bite-sized stories if you need an afternoon's diversion with the usual great narration Johanna Parker brings to the series.
"Fairy Dust" takes place after Dead to the World
"Dracula Night" takes place before Dead As A Doornail
"One Word Answer" takes place BEFORE Definitely Dead. A previous reviewer stated it takes place after Definitely Dead and that is definitely incorrect.
"Lucky" takes place after All Together Dead
Gift Wrap" takes place after From Dead to Worse
This books ranks at the top of my list for non-personal development books. It was fun to listen to and each chapter was it's own short story.
When Sookie interrogates all the suspects in the fairy's death.
The way she used her voice made you think Sookie was actually telling the story.
I listened to it all the way through, but easily could have broken it up in-between each story.
