When two men are discovered with their throats cut in the vestry of St Matthew's Church, the police are faced with an intriguing challenge. For one of the victims was ex-Government minister Sir Paul Berowne, the other Harry Mack, a local tramp and alcoholic. For Commander Adam Dalgliesh the case is particularly affecting - he had known Berowne, and the minister had asked for his help regarding an anonymous letter shortly before his resignation.

"Well acted story, with a few gaps"
This is a radio play, well acted and easy to follow. A straightforward hodunit. The are some plot gaps, eg in the final scene, which I guess are abridgement problems.
As often with Audible, it ends far too abruptly. There are no writing or acting credits given. Audible: please put a short gap at the end , and please give a cast list. Also please say when it was made, and give production credits.
"Disappointed - I'd call it a short story."
A full length book. have always enjoyed PD James, but this was not even a Novella, and definately not worth using a Credit on.
Best thing I can say about this purchase was that it was extremely well read and a pleasure to listen to - just ~WAY too short!
Should have been indicated before purchase that this was just a short story.
