Never a disappointment

What made the experience of listening to A Serpent's Tooth the most enjoyable?

I just love Walk Longmire, Henry Standingbear, Vic, and the gang. I never tire of Craig Johnson's stories of Apsaroka county.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

You know, I love George Guidall and have bought several other audio books for his narration. For whatever reason though in this book he sounded, well, tired, which made Walt Longmire sound tired and old. Not bad enough to where I didn't enjoy the book but I think we may be at a point of needing a new voice for Walt Longmire :(

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Always gave me a chuckle at the wit

Any additional comments?

This is the first time I've given a Walt Longmire/George Guidall anything less than a 5 star rating.

Superb storytelling

I can't add much to all of the reviews here, except to say a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Johnson and Mr. Guidall for a truly enjoyable experience. I've read many of the Walt Longmire mysteries and have enjoyed them all, but this one was somehow darn near perfect in my opinion.

4+4+5 Equals Longmire Enjoyment

I really miss Longmire on A&E but season 3 is due back "sometime in the summer of 2014" is all that's being said. Thank goodness I still have season 2 saved on my DVR so if I'm really desperate I can watch it. But listening to George Guidall read a Craig Johnson Walt Longmire Mystery is way more satisfying. For one thing, the characters have much better roles than on the A&E show and it's almost like listening to an entire season. I enjoyed it so much, I just downloaded another Walt Longmire mystery. Guidall is perfect for his books.

So Good!

This is probably one of the best books of the series. I love them all but this one makes me sit in my driveway to finish a chapter after work!

This is tops

This is one of the best that Craig has written. In its backside it is ended with a love story that by far made this book worth listening to.

Another excellent story!

A really interesting story, and I learned a lot about Mormon history. Great characters and a few heart stopping moments! I'm a long time fan, but I enjoyed this book more than some of the others!

Best Walt Longmire story!

If you could sum up A Serpent's Tooth in three words, what would they be?

Excellent topical suspense.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

When I think of Walt Longmire, the image I have is Robert Taylor with the voice of George Guidall! George has that older sheriff/cowboy voice quality!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Oren died, I shed a tear!

Any additional comments?

The combination of Johnson+guidall= Walt Longmire is a live character!

Best Longmire Book So Far

I enjoy the Longmire books, the characters, and the author's interesting writing style. However this book was the best yet. It is a great story and left me a bit sad at the end. Hopefully the next is just as good. Highly recommended.

What a doozy!

Here comes the 9th book in the Walt Longmire series, and it's a doozy! Mixing a Mormon splinter group/sect with big oil! While investing a missing person, it's up to Walt and Vic Moretti and team to unravel the case before the big oil group get away with literal murder!
So full stars from me! Which includes George Guidall bang-up performance as he navigates the twisty turns Craig Johnson serves up in this tale!
