Publisher's summary

February, 1571. Ursula is once more plunged into affairs of the state when she escorts her foster daughter Margaret to the Netherlands to meet her suitor. The queen’s spymaster, Sir William Cecil, learns that the wealthy Italian banker Roberto Ridolfi will be hosting their forthcoming wedding - a man who he fears may once again be plotting to put Mary Queen of Scots on the English throne. But Ursula is also about to come face-to-face with her greatest enemy - and the exiled Countess of Northumberland is not the only figure from Ursula’s past to put in a surprising appearance.

Rescue

I have throughly enjoyed this whole series, however in each.book a word is mispronounced and it if grating each time I hear it. The word is “settee” or “set tee”. Each book pronounces it “settle”. I don’t know how a “l” got put in settee. Thank you

I need more Ursula!

I plunged ahead and listened even though I know tons has happened between my last title and this one. But I cannot resist the pull of Ursula. She’s smart and tough and spending time in her world is fascinating.

I think this is my favorite title so far, keeping in mind that I haven’t read the books between To Ruin a Queen and this title. The action was fast paced and I always enjoy revisiting characters from previous books. This story finds Ursula in a place of change and grief and she’s changed since Ruin to be a bit more conservative. The changes are in line with how she should evolve so it wasn’t jarring and I didn’t feel like I’d missed too much to still be savvy about the story.

That being said, Audible needs to bring us more of the titles in this series. The stories are interesting and well constructed. The characters are compelling and human and lovely.
