Publisher's summary

From the author of the classic mysteries starring the irrepressible CIA spy, Mrs. Pollifax, comes a delightfully different mystery with a most unholy twist. Filled with all the hilarious surprises and good old-fashioned suspense that her fans have come to love, A Nun in the Closet is the story of two high-spirited nuns who accidentally stumble into a dangerous plot involving ghosts, gangsters, and Protestants.

Groovy 70's Nun Farce

This fun book is set amidst the counter-culture of the 70s, seen through the eyes of two nuns who have been locked away in cloister for years, only to find themselves confronting the world of hippies, drugs, and gangsters when they leave the convent for a trip to upstate New York. The story has a sense of innocence about it that reminded me of the 1959 movie "Some Like It Hot."

Could not stop listening!

I loved this book! Roslyn, the reader perfectly captured all the characters’ quirks and personalities, and she did an awesome job portraying the times (1970s) the action took place. Laughed out loud quite a bit, too, and I can’t wait to recommend this audiobook to all my peeps. Thanks you!!

Huge fan of Dorothy, but...

This is an early standalone by DG, and I think the naivete of the protagonists is a bit forced. I am a huge fan of Mrs. Pollifax and DG in general. But I found this one to be kinda boring. It moved very, very slowly and the conclusion was neither a surprise nor did it warm me to the characters.

Two nuns take on the MOB and the MOB loses

Would you consider the audio edition of A Nun in the Closet to be better than the print version?

The audio book allows you to sit back and close your eyes and think about what is happening, and laugh as the reader weave the story from start to finish. You can smile and laugh at the different things that happen and relax as the nuns go from one adventure to another.

What other book might you compare A Nun in the Closet to and why?

For adventure, the entire Dorthy Gilman series leaves you with chuckles and smiles at the different things that happen, it is hard to chose just one.
Once you start with the Mrs. Polifax books or audio books, you will be laughing at what seems to happen in each book, at least I do.

What does Roslyn Alexander bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

If you are a poor reader like I am, then you would enjoy the fact that someone else is reading and bringing life to the words in the book. I could not put the expressions to the charters that the Roslyn Alexander does, and while I have read the book, it is more relaxing to have someone else read the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know, I have seen the first book that Dorthy Gilman had made in to a movie but it didn't seem to have the same impact on me as reading or listening to the book made. Of course I have read or listened to all of her books several times so I was thinking about what was NOT in the movie.

Any additional comments?

Good listen

Where does A Nun in the Closet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I haven't listened to many yet, but narration was good and well paced and I enjoyed the book

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot moved along well and I was very curious to find out their mysterious

Which character – as performed by Roslyn Alexander – was your favorite?

I think she did a great job conveying each character

Any additional comments?

I love Dorothy Gilman books and thoroughly enjoyed this one. The ending seemed to lose a little pace, and I'm not sure why I felt that way. Era it was written or maybe something else I can't put my finger on but didn't take away from the story and left me wishing for a sequel with the Sisters and their friends!
