Winter in South Dakota. Blowing snow, icy roads, a tired driver. A bus skids and crashes and is stranded in a gathering storm.
There's a small town twenty miles away, where a vulnerable witness is guarded around the clock. There's a strange stone building five miles further on, all alone on the prairie. There's a ruthless man who controls everything from the warmth of Mexico.
Jack Reacher hitched a ride in the back of the bus. A life without baggage has many advantages. And crucial disadvantages too, when it means facing the arctic cold without a coat. But he's equipped for the rest of his task. He doesn't want to put the world to rights. He just doesn’t like people who put it to wrongs.

While recuperating from a big cancer operation, this was a great book to just 'live' the moment of a great story teller. I am enjoying Lee Childs' stories more and more. Cannot wait for the next one!
This is the first audio book I have listened to on my iphone and I really love it. The book is typical Lee Child fairly marcho but a really easy listen as I walk each day.
"Not the Lee Child we know & love"
Oh dear, despite looking forward to this books release I was bitterly disappointed with this latest offering from Lee Child, he is one of my favorite authors and his Jack Reacher books are usually gripping and page turners. This is just too far fetched with planes landing in the middle of nowhere, under ground lost tunnels, and forgotton war 'booty' seemed more like Indiana Jones and a weak plot that my 5 year old could have guessed the 'twist' about half way through the book.
