Publisher's summary

After losing one of its own, Lindsay Boxer and the Women's Murder Club make a courageous return for their fourth and most chilling case ever, one that could easily be their last. A young girl is killed in crossfire after a routine arrest goes terribly wrong, and Lt. Lindsay Boxer has to defend herself against a charge of police brutality. In a landmark trial that transfixes the nation, Lindsay fights to save her career and her sanity.

While awaiting trial, Lindsay escapes to the beautiful town of Half Moon Bay, but the peaceful community there is reeling from a string of unspeakable murders. Working with her friends in the Women's Murder Club, Lindsay finds a link between these killings and a case she worked on years before: an unsolved murder that has haunted her ever since. As summer comes into full swing, Lindsay battles for her life on two fronts: before a judge and jury as her trial comes to a climax; and facing unknown adversaries who will do anything to keep her from the truth about the killings, including killing again. It all comes to a head before the big annual 4th of July celebration on the waterfront at Half Moon Bay. Patterson fine-tunes the tension like never before in this heart-racing new novel in the best-selling detective series to debut in years.

Many twists

Good story. Didn't see the twists and turns coming. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

#Brava!

It has dawned on me (though I was born in 1954) listening to these tales must be what it was like before television, family members huddled around the radio listening to storytelling, with anticipation each night on the edge of their chairs. I Love this series. Ms. Kormic does an amazing job weaving the novel. Cudos to you.

And everywhere Lindsey goes, troubles soon will follow

Another great book about the girls and what they are involved in. After a near death experience that almost destroyed Lindsey's stoic professional exterior, by injuring her unknown soft interior. Who knew she had such a soft spot for kids?

Off Lindsey goes for some R & R at her sisters cabin. However, she immediately uncovers something she should have left alone, she was on vacation after all.

But as we know, Lindsey jumped right in the middle of a case that stumped the local police force. You would think they would be happy to have her experience, but the chief knew there was a pending murder case against Lindsey.

As they learned how to tolerate each other's stubbornness, as more people are murdered, they both realized one of their neighbors of their sleepy town was murdering its residents. But who snd why?
Lindsey is on it with her best buddy her dog Boo.

Just so-so

This book was not the best of the series. Many improbabilities such as she is on trial for a killing but her sister is on vacation instead of by her side???? Did not like the woman reading the story. Her voice sounded like a well to do person not a cop.

Great story

Lindsay Boxer is a great character, and I love her murder club friends. The narrator does a great job with the performance, and the author spinned another great story.
